• Hi SW

I'm going to have a look now.

I have just spoken to Roy Castle Lung Cancer Team and they will let me know end of next week as well. I will apply for the others via crunch if I can but I really wanted to run for a charity that is personal to me and that would be cancer/lung cancer or leukaemia, as I feel more able to ask for sponsorship for something that I know has affected me and others that I am close to - does that make sense? I just feel it is a lot of sponsorship to raise unless it is something those around me can relate to and sympathise with - am I babbling on????

If I can't get in with these other ones I may just try again for 2009 and cheer you all on instead :)
• SW - how do I get in touch with Andy Etchell - the page just seems to come up with lots of sponsored links?
• Hi BA

andy@andis.co.uk

That is the e-mail address he got back to me on and then he rang me to ask a few more questions.

I know exactly what you mean ref the sponsorship, my family have all suffered with chronic back problems, meaning that 4 out of 5 of Mum, Dad, 2 sisters and me have had to have back operations, hence why I am running for backcare. The other one was Children with Leukemia charity, which is in the London Marathon magazine.

Hope this helps

• I have chased up Roy Castle, Cancer Research, Children with Leukaemia, and Anthony Nolan Trust.

As much as I want to run it, if I don't get in via these I will have to accept defeat :( I am concerned about committing myself to a sponsorship figure I can't achieve as I have enough financial problems - I don't want to start paying for me to run

Keep everything crossed for me :)
• You'll be surprised BA, I have to raise £1200 and am already at £1000

Hi everyone

I have got my charity site up and running!

I am running for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of my dad who passed away at the end of last year.

I have put all the details on the Charity thread.

Please take a look

HI all,

excellent news on all your London Marathon places, if I had any cash I would sponsor you in a second!

Good luck with the training over the winter months, brrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm hoping to clear my backlog of work over the next couple of weeks then be ready to have some me time. In fact I'm going to dust off my trainers, get my kit ready and waiting for that day.

Ev x
