How big is a consignment? :rotfl:

    Must..... resist!!!!!!

Incidentally... I have a drawer full of books that are taking ages to shift. If I listed them in batches on ebay, would it be worth it?

It's mainly paperback, 'thinking-girl's lit', Bookerish stuff, novels that were hip a couple of years back, no massive 1p bestsellers :)
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

I shared a car load with somebody but im not sure how much a pallet is,

Ive done 2 job lots on ebay and i found that putting no information other than a rough paperback/hardback ratio, how many and that there were no damaged ones worked best. This seems to get more interest as they always want that unknown bargain and are hoping yopu have accidently listed that rare 1st edition ;)

I think all Amazon Sellers suffer from 'OH angst', my last job lot caused a problem because the 1000 books I bought were more than 2000 (same price mind you  )

It took me longer than usual to clear the garage and the car had to live outside for a while.

    Ho hum.

Woo I just sold my first item (an Xbox game) on Market Place!

How much should 1st class postage be on a DVD-sized object in a jiffy bag?

Also, can you explain how my fees are worked out? The item sold for 4.55 + 1.99 postage, then fees of 1.68 and VAT of 0.25 (total of 1.93 fees, meaning I received 4.61 before posting).

    Thanks! :)

70p first class, 60p second, though suspect you probably already have discovered this at the PO yourself this morning.

    Hi peeps!

sorry for neglecting you all, I've been quite busy with stuff here lately.

Just wanted to update on something which may help people decide on how to price their stuff on amazon. Everyone should be aware that certain sellers are using software to undercut the lowest offered price, but unless you're pretty experienced at listing on amazon you will probably have no idea who these sellers are. Now there is a resource for sellers to refer to which lists the sellers known, or suspected, to be using pricing software to undercut. This list will hopefully be updated and checked for accuracy regularly and should provide an invaluable resource. The lists are also available as RSS feeds should people require a method of being updated to new submissions.

You can find this page here, and feel free to comment or make your own submissions to the lists. Though be aware, only members can make submissions directly to the lists, though anyone can submit via the comments/feedback section. all submissions/comments are approved before publication and all are anonymous unless, though if you are a member your id will show on comments published, though not on submissions to the lists.

    R.

WOW! Thanks for all the thanks's!

Another useful resource that people might find useful when pricing is a tool developed by Mike of Gladhayes Books. It's a webpage where you can caluclate the profit on a book listed on amazon. You enter, weight, price, cost of items, cost of packaging and whether you're going to be sending first/second class, click enter and it gives you the profit and a break down of fees! You can find the free version of the tool here

Think AT will add these 2 to the first 2 posts for newbies/reference?

    Thanks, indeed I did, yup 70p 1st class, meaning I made a total of 3.91 :j !

What comment should I leave a buyer in feedback?
