Just a quick question...how soon after release does Amazon allow normal marketplace sellers to list newly released books? I ended up with 2 copies of the new harry Potter and want to sell one while i can. and it won't let me. Strange thing is though there are some listed already..but no option to list any more.
hey Misha ..thanks for letting me have a day with the selling fairy! I've sold 4 today and one of those was a £49 book going to Norway..:jI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks everyone. I phoned Amazon help line, and they where very helpful, they even said if I had further questions to not hesitate in phoning again!
There advice is simple, if you do not have the manufacturers name which they admitted it would be unlikely our supplier would be happy to give us, use your own business name in place of the manufacturers name, this is apparently what others do.
I thought it was worth returning here with this information in case others are faced with the same dilemma.0 -
Arghh..1 of my sales has been cancelled. The buyer wanted a new copy and didn't realise mine was second hand and was a tad irritated when I cut and pasted condition in my 'item will be sent tomorrow' email.
I have refunded, obviously, unwrappe dbook and explained that buyers should check book condition before they buy and showed them where this can be seen. I've also explained that the only 'very good' copy of th ebook is in the US and almost £120, and mine is the only other copy at £10I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. That's tough, soolin. Buyers! Don't you just love 'em? Not:rolleyes:
With any luck they might be back again as you pointed out the cost of the only available alternative. Or maybe you don't want them back!0 -

Look at it as an opportunity to reprice it at £30 and triple the profit!Do You Twitter?

You beat me to it Rupert, I was going to suggest Soolin increased her price.
If there was only an ebook listed at £120 I would be pricing way higher than £10 - although it would depend a bit on what other editions are around (if any). Even £30 might be a bit low?

Well done soolin, as others have suggested here up your price on the one you refunded.
Every time i get a pending sale I increase the price a bit (they NEVER complete for me ) and each time ive sold it a few days later. sneaky but this is business
Only 1 99p sale today, though the high should last me a good few weeks yet !!

I just had a 99p sale too - but mine was used like new and some of the 1p books were new!!!! Makes me grin a lot especially in Awesome's direction.... sad, that me!
I had a rash of pendings not going through too - maybe it is silly season ....0 -
I'd appreciate some advice, I sold a book to Spain today and its only my second international sale and I can't remember what i did re the other one which was so long ago. I checked and the buyer has 4 feedback from previous sellers one which was complaining about the Spanish postal system and suggesting the buyer had somehow scammed a refund. The other 3 feedbacks are positive.
What would be my best option for posting the book and what kind of proof is available just in case?
Thanks
Teapot

Just sold this for £12 when others are available from £6.99! !.8kg too, so others aren't going to make much on it as postage will be hefty, meanwhile my postage cost about £1.30:DDo You Twitter?
