Yes, this selling books is very addictive!!:smileyhea :smileyhea I sold a book on Friday for £22 so I am really pleased. There were only 4 listed but mine was the most expensive. I think that the 100% ratings really do influence the buyers. So long may mine continue, fingers crossed.

I'll need to get signed up to Amazon today and start listing things.
Can anyone shed some light as to what I should expect with being a new Amazon seller with no feedback? Would giving a link to my Ebay feedback for Amazon customer to look at benefit or hinder me?

I've got so many books, load in fact and a good 60% are all educational types! So hopefully I'll have something that someone might want.

    Thanks folks,
    Joanne x

  • Newboy. It's a wonderful feeling to make your first sale/s. Long may it continue for you.

I remember early on in the thread you said you'd ordered a consignment from Priority books so I'm assuming these were part of that batch. Were you pleased with the books on the whole? I'm thinking of sending for a pallet soon(if I can negotiate even more garage space from DH:eek: )

Not advisable toinclude any links at all in comments as these will be automatically closed. Links provided in your seller profile are allowed but you must be careful that it is not seen as an attempt to divert sales from Amazon.

I wouldn't worry too much about not having any feedback to begin with, most customers will still be happy to buy from you, especially if you describe condition of book well. Also don't expect as much feedback, only about 1 in 4 or 5 customers leave feedback on amazon, and often not for weeks afterwards.

and then the feedback doesnt necessarily have anything whatsoever to do with either the service you provide or the condition of the book!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that, but I've 98% positive on ebay and I thought it might have been an idea for potential buyers on amazon to see how many happy buyers I've had on ebay. Anyway, I'll not be linking up as rare_stuff advised.

Newboy, were those sales part of a bulk purchase?

I went to look around an auction today, saw some book lots that might have been worth a look into....

Yes there were part of a bulk purchase from Priority Books. Generally pleased on initial inspection. Lots of 1p books however. I will post about the quality once through the whole lot.

Have managed to get just over 400 book listed so far, and sold 4 more today, so things are looking very good. :rotfl:

Thanks to you all for the support, i feel like should take a bow or something!

    Too you all :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T

    Bother I have a problem.

I sold a brand new still shrink wrapped DVD set and have just received a note from the buyer saying that two of the discs are duplicated, so can I please send him the missing disc if he sends me back the duplicate one. Obviously though I can't as this was a one off box set bought a while ago and I have no more copies.

I suppose all I can do is suggest he returns the lot for a full refund, bother it. Incidentally he confirms the set was sealed when he received it, but that doesn't help me at all as I had the set for several months before it sold and I no longer have the receipt nor can I prove the discs were wrong as the box set is now fully opened.

To make matters even worse it went overseas so double arghh..

I'm supposed to be making money not losing it every which way.
