Hi
I have received a strange email from Amazon telling me that I have a payment pending for a book and not to send until I hear from them.
What's that all about? I hope it goes through - it should make me £20 profit!

That's fine, just wait til it's confirmed, then post it."I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0

Sometimes there is a problem with a buyer's credit card or similar. Once the problem has been sorted you will receive the standard 'Sold Dispatch Now' email.
A lot of pending transactions don't actually materialise into real sales, though. If it doesn't, Amazon automatically relist the item for you after so many days.

Newboy - Yes, you're right, that was just the start of it. I have finished all the easy ones (around 1400) and have now started on the ones either without ISBN or not in the Amazon catalogue.
Now, for your other questions:
1) I sold one the very first day
2) It started straight away (nothing huge though)
3) around 25 a week
4) at the moment around 1700
5) yes
6) no, but although I have sold my own books here and there for a long time, I have just started on a larger scale. (1 month)
Does this help?2009: Headphones, Nintendo DSi , Baking Kit

Hi everyone.
Can I ask whether any of you just make your living through amazon selling? I am only selling my own personal stuff at the moment and have a few sales. Some weeks better than others. But I was wondering whether it would be worth while doing it instead of my job. I dont want to buy and sell and have a job at the same time as I don't want the hassle with the tax etc, plus I would imagine it to be very time consuming.
Thanks in advance. Any sdvice would be appreciated.Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance....0 -
Sorry I'm sure this has been asked a million times (and I have looked!) but I have had a message from a buyer saying a CD I posted a couple of weeks ago hasn't arrived. Whats the standard things I should be asking/telling them.
1. I've let them know I have a certificate of posting and given them the date i posted.
2. I've asked them to confirm their address
3. I've asked them to contact their post office depot to see if they attempted delivery and have the item there.
anything else??
many thanks£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -

I'm not sure if there are many people who have good enough stock to do this full time, I certainly only make pocket money. Also, you still need to declare all this to the tax man regardless of whether you exceed your personal allowances or not.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Wow Kat, you bought yours only a short time before I did. Did you already sell most of yours or do you just have a huge amount of space? I am already thinking of the next one but I would have to take over my next door neighbour's house and, although they are very nice people, I think they might object .
My first pallet was only half pallet, the second one was a full pallet, but I am lucky that I have a very supportive husband who has allowed me to use 3/4 garage, the study and the spare room for my business, and therefore I have not run out of space yet, although I anticipate that time arriving soon!My darling boy born December 20110 -

Unfortunately if after checking with the sorting office this CD does not turn up then you will need to issue a full refund. You can use your certificate of posting to reclaim your loss from the Royal mail after 15 working days have elapsed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
