After reading this thread (or rather the one before) and especially Mishka, FFM and Kat's comments, I decided to give Priority Books a try. I called them and they are really lovely and helpful so I bought a pallet and listed almost everything - and I can tell you it is a LARGE amount of books:eek:.

I had estimated that it would take me around 3 months to cover my costs but I wanted to see how it went. Well today I looked at my spread sheet only to realize that I did it in 2.5 weeks :j:j:j:j.

Thank you to all three for the wonderful advice.

Wow!! Well done. I think I got mine back in a month or so, but I was very slow listing mine, well done! I have just bought another pallet and will be listing it over the next couple of weeks, no idea if it is any good yet as I haven't looked. Well done to you Maxine, that is very good news! Glad I was able to help.

Exactly the same happened here - I was lucky enough to have a Dutch buyer, who replied 'fine, is OK, I am chill'.

To make things worse the sold book is still available to purchase in my open listings

Wow Kat, you bought yours only a short time before I did. Did you already sell most of yours or do you just have a huge amount of space? I am already thinking of the next one but I would have to take over my next door neighbour's house and, although they are very nice people, I think they might object .

    AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:mad:

    Just got a 3 out of 5 ,

"quite pricey for a somewhat tatty paperbACK"

Ive had no contact and they have had the book for nearly 20 days, what is wrong with some people !! If they werent happy why on earth didnt they just email me ??:confused:

    This was my response

    Hi,
I have just logged in to find the feedback you have left regarding your
recent purchase, I have not received any contact from you regarding
this matter so was quite surprised to read that you were unhappy.
You are quite welcome to return the book, if you are not satisfied with
the quality, and receive a full refund of the original purchase price.
As mentioned in the description, there is some shelf wear to the book,
but I cannot recall what would make the book "tatty"
Please contact me as soon as possible so we can resolve this matter,
    Kind regards
    Mishka

that was the polite reply, my first version was perhaps not as tactful ;)

    mishka,

Good luck with your buyer. My buyer that left me 3 out of 5 who said the book was 'good for the price' (she was a newbie and seemed to think 3 stars was the default feedback) never did respond to my emails. I tried persuading CS to remove it but they said no even though they agreed the feedback comment did not match the rating.

Of course since then despite selling 51 books last month I haven't received any more feedback so my monthly percentage is absolutely dismal.

I want to stand up and scream 'leave me some ** feedback and knock that 3 stars out of view'' grrr

Also, while I am in a grrrr mood..do customer services actually read the emails they get or just send stupid responses regardless?

I sent an email explaining that I had to cancel a sold book as it still appeared in my open listings and I was concerned at how many other sold books were still listed. The response was that the book I referred to was not in my open listings. Of course it isn't, I cancelled it as soon as I realised it was still available but that was exactly what I had said in my email to them.

Some time ago I changed the password that i used for amazon selling, and now and again I log in to find that my rating is 0 and i have nothing listed. Anyone else find this? Sometimes I can then reveal them all again by trying a variety of logging in routes, and uses of old and new passwords etc. If I search amazon for some of the books i know i have listed, they are shown!

Anyone else had this, and/or know a way around it?
It's almost as if I have an old account with listings, and a new one that is totally clear!

    hi soolin

A few weeks ago I got 3 out of 5 from a buyer who changed her mind before I'd even had a chance to put her disc in an envelope, so she had an immediate refund. Neither she nor Amazon would remove it. I then hit a really dry patch, so the feedback was glaringly obvious. Sales have picked up a bit now, but I think you're right that some people mysteriously do regard 3 as the default.

Hello all, I have just ordered my first load of books from Priority and looking forward to recieving them............hours to spend listing them, what joy!

Anyway, can anyone suggest the best/cheapest way to package? I am looking at jiffy bags and similar. I have also read though and seen the blue bags someone mentioned, i have looked at a few paperbacks and they all seem to be thicker than the royal mail's 25mm limit, am I missing something here? Also what sizes do you guys and girls use? Any cheap suppliers?

Also I have noticed a few of you have an signature at the bottom of your posts noting targets and 'olympic challenge' what is this?

Lots of questions I know, would appreciate your answers and support :)

Looking forward to selling my 1st and many more books very soon.

Setting a target to make £1000 by the end of October
