FFM is right, I found that although I do sell some 1p books (when there are several pages of them) as long as it is on the first 2 pages a book sells. But I spend a lot of time describing the faults. As a result I get a good feedback which in turn, helps the sales.

I have also been very lucky to sell a few books in the £10 - £20 bracket. So this helps a lot.

Yeah... I remember hearing about that, once.... It did ring a bell.....:p

Seriously, at the moment my life is changing a lot and I have had to make big decisions as to where I was going to go from here. So, for the time being, in front of the comp is a good a place as any :D

Thanks Debs. I like your Gran and Dad, I tend to think the same way.

As for the PC chair, I really need to get a new one. This one is almost old enough to drink legally and I don't want to think what could happen then :D

I've just come back from a short break (with my holiday settings fully activated) and managed to sell a book the day after I left!

Will have to grovel to buyer and explain it should not have been possible to buy from me when I had no open listings, and get the book out first thing today.

    Well done wilf!!!

I thought I'd cracked it last week - had 4 in a row - as I finished packing the one and went back to my account there was another one ...

Then nothing at all for 3 days! That'll teach me...:o

Exactly the same happened here - I was lucky enough to have a Dutch buyer, who replied 'fine, is OK, I am chill'.

    Hi.
I am a pro merchant seller on Amazon and sell books succesfully on two other sites. I wish i'd known about this thread when i first started using Amazon as there is a lot of useful information- especially in the opening post.

I'd be interested to know what peoples experiences are with using bar code readers. What benefits are there and how exactly do they work?

I use it all the time! I hate typing in ISBNs so it is always next to my laptop ready to plug in. The benefit is time saved, only a few seconds per book but it all counts. I don't know how the mechanics work, all I know is, when it first arrived it came with a little card that you scan to tell it what to do, so I scanned the ISBN bit so it always comes up with ISBNs, now all I do is scan and it types the number in the box for me, simple as.
