All the best with your workload,AT:beer:

Just picking up on what you said about filling in the COP form yourself. Does the PO assistant you deal with check every parcel against your COP form before rubber-stamping it? I tried that to save time(with 8 packages) but she still insisted on checking each one carefully against the list so I was still waiting ages and holding everyone up:mad:

My local PO ticks every one off against my list, it really only takes a couple of seconds, so no problems. The Main PO though just counts the parcels, makes sure my COP has the same number and then stamps it.

My PO staff don't even look at the COP they just stamp it and initial it - I have them stamp both sides because if I ever have to show it to a buyer to prove that I've sent an item (it happens every now and then) I photograph it and email an image but if their address was on the back of the form then it's just a list of names with no stamp on it, I could have written it 2 minutes before the photo but if it's stamped then it's officially posted and looks good to the buyer, keeps them on-side for a while if it's delayed
There's a new member of staff at the PO, I say new, it's been 6 months now and she still makes mistakes so I have to watch her. The other day she priced up and stamped a heavy parcel for Italy, it wasn't until I got home I saw that she'd priced it as £1.89 - this was 2 minutes before the van collected, I made it back to the PO just as it was being loaded - explained to the driver - we got it back in the PO where it was repriced at over £10, another minute and it would have been out of my hands. I was chatting to a neighbour in the queue when she priced it so I took my eye off the ball - won't do that again!

Oooh I hate it when that happens Mishka - that blank space is soooo depressing. Hope your sales pick up soon.

  • Thanks,AT.
I might try a different PO ( a bit of a waste of money as this is a very rural area so it will add another 4 miles each way on:eek:) but the nearest one is such a Jobsworth!

    Help again please!

I have a book - cloth bound - called Legends, Stories and Fables from the French" Collected by Harold Nicholson & Illustrated by R B Ogle Published 1934 as far as I can tell (no reprint date) Pub. Independent Press Ltd. Price 2/-

Cant find it anywhere on any of my searches. ... any ideas please???

    (later that day ...)

Also!!! Book called "Dingy and Pips, Limited, Detectives" by Anton Lind. Pub: Sampson Low, Marston & Co ( purnell?) All the ones I can find are dated 1961 1st edition but mine has a presentation plate in the front dated 1941. It certainly looks much older than 1961. Several b/w plates inc frontispiece. Books list in the back listing other books in the Sampson Low's Junior Books - all priced about 2/6 some cheaper. Am investigating those @ the moment but pointers would be very very welcome!

Has anyone else seen the Amazon announcement about the changes to the A-Z claim procedure:

    http://forums.prospero.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=am-uksellannoun&msg=246.1&ctx=0

They are going the same way as paypal in that unless item is tracked and shows delivery the seller stumps up automatically. I realise this probably won't affect anyone here as we tend to all refund in case of no receipt and not let the buyer go to the trouble of an A-Z claim, but I think, from reading the boards, that there are a minority of sellers who rely on the A-Z to cover them against losses.

Not been able to get into the GreenMet site all day - it just puts up a message to come back later. Anyone else had the same prob?
  • You're up late, teapot. I'm glad I'm not the only night-owl on MSE:rotfl:

I logged onto GreenMet about 15 minutes ago to update my sold books and it was working fine then.

    Good Luck:beer:
