No. But it doesn't change the price of fish. I'm afraid you'll need to let it go, as others have said.
  • Hello all,

My family and I (2 adults, 2 children) were delayed by 5 hours travelling with Monarch from Luton to Larnaca due to a technical fault with the plane. I made a claim for compensation using the letter on MSE (thank you!). I then filled out four claim forms and sent photocopies of booking confirmations etc as requested by Monarch. I was expecting to hear nothing except the "on hold" tactic, but today I have received without explanation, a cheque for a rather odd amount in sterling, which I make around €1200, so €300 per person. Have we been shortchanged? Should I email the customer services team and ask how they've arrived at this figure, or is best to accept the compensation?
  • Luton to Larnaka is 3,315 km so you are entitled to 400 Euros per passenger. It sounds as if they've only allowed for 3. How old was the younger child? You should ask them how they've arrived at the figure.
Incidentally, there is a thread designated to Monarch flights.
  • Hello, does anyone know the address to send the claim to for a flight delay on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)?

    Thank you!
  • Thank you, I have emailed them and they have only compensated for three passengers. I have asked for them to look into it.

Len - you are likely to be in the €250 per passenger delayed category. If you feel unable to read and digest Vauban's Guide then you may have to use a no win no fee firm so instead of €250 you would end up with around €165 (ie c £120).
In first instance contact KLM and see if they will just cough up.

    Thanks for the response.

I used the resolver link and sent the email off to KLM just now.

I'll post again when/if there is news either way.

Thank you to all those people, too, who went to the effort to get all this information on this site.

Just as a general point of principal - as I'm fairly sure this must come up quite a bit but I can't find anything specific in the forum - if a flight was operated by a "wholly owned" subsidiary that uses the parent for all branding/marketing (e.g. BA CityFlyer, KLM Cityhopper, Lufthansa CityLine), should court proceedings be issued against the subsidiary or parent?
  • I'm taking my mum to Copenhagen on the 14th of December. We were booked to fly back on the 16th (Dublin to Copenhagen). I just got an email from Aer Lingus saying our return flight has been cancelled and they have booked us into one the following day (24 hours later). Are we entitled to help with accomodation for the extra night?
