First place to check would be the FAQs
Some people have voluntarily spent a lot of time pulling together a comprehensive list of FAQs to avoid people having to post the same questions over and over.
If you had looked you would see in large red text
Airline bust= no claim
The claim is against the airline, not the travel agent, not the package holiday company, not the administrator, nor anyone else. AIRLINE ONLY. If the airline is bust, you have no-one to claim against. It doesn't matter if the package tour operator is still in business and the airline is not. No airline = no claim.0 -
Hi everyone, I would like your thoughts on my specific flight delay case.
On 26th March 2012 I booked to travel from Shanghai to Amsterdam with SAS airlines (with a transfer at Copenhagen). My flight from Shanghai to Copenhagen was delayed 54 minutes which meant I missed my connection flight to Amsterdam that evening. SAS put me on the next flight to Amsterdam the next morning, making me arrive at my final destination (Amsterdam) around 12 hours late. Do you think, as I arrived at my FINAL destination, over 3 hours late I will be entitled to claim compensation?0 -
Well, followed the advice given. Wrote to Jet2 about a Sept 11 delayed flight from Corfu to Manchester by 5 hrs 55 mins.
Claim rejected twice by the airline so wrote to CAA who advise me that because the flight was from a non UK airport, they could not help.
Is that it? Do I now have to give up?0 -

Take them to court, engage a NWNF lawyer or walk away. Those are your three choices (and indeed most people's three choices).0 -

We were delayed on the tarmac at Heathrow for five hours on a transatlantic BA flight. We claimed and they offered us £100 in vouchers (£50 each) which we declined, they then took five weeks to settle the claim as stated by EU law and sent us 600 euros cash (local currency) each, which was a very positive result. Thank you for your encouragement to pursue this.0

Can someone help clarify this?
I was travelling back from a ski holiday in Switzerland on 19.12.2010 and my flight was cancelled. According to Easyjet this was due to adverse snow conditions in the south of the UK, however I was travelling from Zurich - Manchester, both of which were unaffected by the weather. Can the Easyjet wriggle out of the 24Hr delay compensation by claiming that it was due to the weather despite there being a full schedule from both the airports I was flying from/to?
Thanks0 -

Not really. The Regulation is specific in presenting weather as an extraordinary circumstance only if it presents "meteorological conditions incompatible with the flight concerned."0 -
