Done ! I have just submitted a 'Money Claim Online' form.
I put the claim amount as 1800 euros (£1526), because there were 3 passengers.
The only thing I am not sure about, is the fact that one of those passengers was my daughter and as she was under 2 at the time we did not purchase a seat for her (she sat on our laps for 8 hours!).
Therefore I'm not sure if I can only claim for 2 people i.e. 1200 euros.
The court fee cost £80 to claim for all 3 of us, if I had only claimed for the 2 of us it would still have cost £70.
Ill let you know how I get on - the claim form states that Thomas Cook has 14 days to respond.0 -
I had one infant as well, she was only 1 year old at the time. Check your invoice because we were charged a nominal £30 for here thus we were able to claim for her.
I am sure we had to pay something towards the cost of my daughter traveling too.
The only problem is, I don't have the paperwork.... the booking was made just over 6 years ago and the flight was just under 6 years ago. I dont have the credit card that I booked the holiday with either (Egg Credit Card).
I have contacted Yorkshire Building Society (who took over Egg) to see if I can get a copy of the statement, although this will only show the total cost and not a breakdown of all the costs like an invoice would show.0 -

The only problem is, I dont have the paperwork (it was nearly 7 years ago) and I no longer have the credit card which I booked the holiday with.
I dont know if I could go back to the credit card company to ask them for a copy of the statement, although this will only show the total cost and not a breakdown of all the costs as an invoice would show.0 -

Sorry to tell you if it's nearly 7 years ago your out of time, action must be taken within 6 years in England 5 years in Scotland.
Sorry my mistake, the booking was made just over 6 years ago and the flight was just under 6 years ago.
The delayed flight was on 20th October 2007, so thats 'just' under 6 years ago.
PS Ive edited my post and chanced it from 7 to 6 years !0 -
We were on flight from Faro to Liverpool on Sunday, 2nd June. 40 passengers had to get of the plane because the pilot had told us that he did not have enough emergency oxygen to get all passengers home, because of a medical problem on a previous flight. Passengers were offered 250 Euros hotel travel etc and flight back the next day (We found out later they only had 14 seats back to Liverpool the next day anyway) Then two more options were made home via Belfast with a 40 min wait to Liverpool which turned in too being a four hour wait. or via Gatwick and coach to Liverpool we decided to help out and
We were redirected by Easyjet back to Liverpool via Belfast. Arriving home 6hrs late. At Belfast we were told that we were entitled to compensation and this would be done automatically. We have just heard back from customer servicers saying you guessed it 'extraordinary circumstance' and no chance have just sent a reply to them now the long wait again do you think we will get any think from them.0 -

I have submitted a claim to US Airways and they offered me an $800 voucher, I have been looking and the flights and they are expensive and the routes are terrible.
Could somebody look at the letter they have senT me refusing compensation and tell me if they are talking nonsense?
Many thanks
LETTER
They are talking nonsense rightly enough.
Your next step is to write back and state that they have not provided any proof of extraordinary circumstances (don't use the word 'exceptional'), and that the technical issue that they mention is not 'extraordinary'. Therefore you give them 14 days to settle your claim or you put them on notice that you will be at liberty to commence court action against them to recover this debt without giving them any further notice.
And then commence court action in 14 days time.
If you're not prepared to go to court then either instruct a no win no fee firm or walk away now.
I will be copying and pasting the above reply to over 90% of questions from now on.0 -

If a fee, - even £1 - was paid for your D then she is a far paying passenger and entitled to the same compensation as all others.0 -

OK so the flight was a previous one, also they seem to have put everyones lives in danger because of lack of oxygen? that doesnt look too good, personally, I would claim for the delay, make sure you get every peice of info from them by writing and record the deliveries etc.0
