Is anyone else on here trying to claim with Ryanair? Any successes?
Sent a claim letter after the flight in 2009, recorded delivery to Dublin and received no response. It wasn't the template though, do I still need to contact Ryanair before going down the court route. Every time I try to use the complaints feedback form it crashes.

.
Yep!
I can really see Thomas Cook going out of their way to help you to potentially claim money from them.
Not!
There are many of us, who, even though we have all the details and docs., are still waiting for a reply of any sort from them!I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left!0 -
A success story!
My BA flight out of Amsterdam with my 2 young kids was cancelled last June because of engine problems. Because the next flight was not until late evening we stayed in a hotel at BA's costs and flew back the next day. After they also reimbursed my taxi costs home I thought no more of it. Until I re-read the article on MSE and thought I'd give it a try yesterday afternoon. Filled in the claim form on BA's website using the template letter and today I have already received a reply from BA saying that they will compensate me...£614 is coming my way :j
Receiving this money means my credit card is paid off completely a month early and I'm left with extra money even!
Now I have to sit down and do my PPI claim forms...0 -
I am currently awaiting a Court date in respect of my claim against Monarch Airlines for a 26 hour delay. Monarch are stating the technical problem experienced come under the heading of extraordinary circumstances. With the help of Centipede and others I am preparing my statement to go before the DJ later in the year.
In carrying out my research however I have come across a factor regarding my 26 hour delay which I have only just discovered namely that my return flight number was amended slightly. I was due to fly back on flight 959 but as this was a daily return service this would have meant two Monarch flights leaving at approximately the same time with the same flight number so our flight number was amended to 959B. I assume this makes no difference to my (delayed) claim however thought I should check as I was booked on 959 so did this become cancelled and become 959B as the cancellation provisions differ to the delay ones? Given the obstacles put in my way so far I am anxious to 'get it right'.
CAA response to my own question which may help/prove of interest ...
Regulation EC261/2004 sets out the entitlements of air passengers when the flight they intend to travel on is delayed or cancelled.
The Regulation defines “cancellation” as the non-operation of a flight which was previously planned and on which at least one place was reserved.
Unfortunately, a definition of “delay” does not exist so, by default, those flights that do not fall under the cancellation definition and operate are considered flight “delays”. Nor is there a time limit within which a carrier can reschedule a flight after which the flight would be considered cancelled. A change in flight number would generally suggest the original flight had been cancelled rather than delayed. However sometimes, when a flight is delayed overnight, the number will be modified to distinguish it from the following day’s flight if the airline is due to operate a flight with the same flight number.0 -
First time posting on here so be kind.
Has anyone had any luck pursuing a claim with Etihad? We had a 20 hour delay from MAN to Abu Dhabi in October 2010, and they have just replied that they are denying the claim citing a 2 year time limit on such claims. That clearly contradicts the 6 year limit applicable in the UK. Surely they can't use that argument to weasel out of their legal obligations?
Next step will be the CAA, though to be honest I'm not optimistic that Etihad will ultimately take any notice.0 -

Interesting as Easyjet have turned my claim down stating compensation could not be paid for engine trouble "In accordance to the the EUC legislation we cannot give you the compensation as the condition of delay is due to anextraordinary circumstance".0 -

My sister in law (also on the same flight with her fam) will be sending a near identical letter at the same time so hope that doesn't jeopardise things. I had to share this info with her.
same here with a TC flight 2008, have all the details but lost the booking reference, it will be on an old laptop so will wait to see if I have to trawl through to find it0
