Yes I issued a claim in 2011, so was surprised to receive a settlement document (and waiver of any further claim) offering only the basic euro payment, as though the claim had only just arisen. I expressly rejected it and inserted the correct sum,which in turn Easyjet have rejected.
I was wondering whether anyone else with revived or long standing claims has received the same from Easyjet? If so, it seems to me that they are trying to shave a pretty decent chunk off what they would be ordered to pay in court.0 -

Re claim against AF: The eight hour delay to the departure from JHB was compounded by the connection fromCDG to BHX - arriving at BHX at 19.15 instead of the scheduled 07.40. I accepted an offer of a seat on SAA that got me into LHR at 07.10 so that I could get back to the UK for my granddaughter's birthday party that day. It did mean my wife getting up an at ungodly hour to drive 100 miles each way to pick me up as (obviously) there are no flights between LHR and BHX.0 -
Assuming the offer was made by AF, you effectively agreed to change your destination IMO, though as you can tell, others may disagree. In fact, I'd say that any obligations on the part of AF ended when you accepted a new ticket on another airline and decided to skip the remainder of your AF itinerary. Seeing that AF most likely paid out of their own pocket to ensure that you got home as quick as possible it's pretty harsh to then come after them for compensation.0

Apologies if this has already been asked, but this a long thread!
I have a 7 hour delay on a flight from Faro to London on Ryanair a few years ago. However, when I go to their site the link they give you only allows you to claim for cancelled flights. I can claim for a 7 hour delay can't I?0 -

Has anyone tried this with a tour operator? I had a 40 hour delay due to the plane falling apart last year, as it was to Gran Canaria in falls under the £320 range, is it rude to ask for the £480 as we were delayed for 40 HOURS?

I don't know if it's rude but there's not much point since they are unlikely to pay out more than they have to and you'll probably have to fight just to get that. In the worst case scenario, I could even see it slowing down your claim.0 -
