Just an idea of mine, just musing really.
Try this..... As I am a new member I am not allowed to post links but search google for "THE AVIATION HERALD"
or use this - AVHERALD(DOT)COM
Click on any of the postings and it lists a full detailed report0 -
I submitted claims to Jet2 using the template letter and received a reply on the 14th day. This is obviously a delaying tactic as the information that they asked for was already in my letter except that they asked for a copy of either the booking confirmation or the boarding cards, which is easily available to them.
Trying to keep up wth this thread is really hard going. Does anybody see a problem with keeping this as a general thread and opening new ones for specific airlines?0 -
Nowse that's a very good idea, have thought if we had individual threads for each airline it might help... form experience it seems that the biggest 2 offenders are TC and Monarch...
I have already submitted court paperwork, even gave them a copy of the recorded delivery letter number so they can track it ...lol... did they or have they responded nope...0 -

Most large airlines are in a similar position...
I believe that eventually all airlines will have to evolve so that at all major airports there are 'stores' of replacement parts which any airline can use, and also mechanics available to fit them!
Next plane out also brings the replacement part so the store is replenished.
Dare I say it, spare aeroplanes could also be part of this pool so that passengers can simply be boarded onto an operational aircraft and complete their journey on time, re-jigging the planes back into place (once fixed) isn't that much of an operational nightmare.0 -
It is obvious from most postings on the forum that airlines are generally still fobbing people off and not paying compensation for delays to which they are entitled.I suggest that the editorial team should produce an update on this topic naming and shameing the offenders.Without that sort of adverse publicity they will carry on refusing individual claims.

I think I may have posted in the wrong thread so just in case will post here too.
I received an email from Monarch with the attached claim form.
It asks for the original booking confirmation and/or boarding passes. Our flight was in 2008 and we did not keep our boarding passes. The booking confirmation was on a previous PC so we no longer have that. In the original letter I sent them I gave our booking reference and I do still have our outdated passports that we used for the flight so I can send photocopies of them. Is there anything else I can send them?"Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0 -
Well TC have had their 14 days and a couple (i am a reasonable man).
They have had neither the decency to reply nor have they acknowledged my initial letter (based around Centipede's template - thanks).
I have taken some legal advice and have now written a "letter before action" with a few well chosen words and phrases referring to mediation and practice direction.
Will have to see if a) it gets me anywhere,
b) if TC are still around!
If I do win, I wont be accepting holiday vouchers!I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left!0 -

Have you tried logging onto your Monarch account, and see if the booking is still in your archives? You should be able to print it off if it is, - at the least take a screen shot and that could also be printed if you have to.0 -
My flight was in April of this year and all the paperwork is still on the Monarch site.....
Easyjet are the only airline actually paying out without the all singing dancing routine....
I have never you the "Irish nyaff's" airline and never will... and now will never use Monarch again after this carry on...:)0
