As the flights were on one ticket if the BA flight was delayed and caused the misconnect then BA are liable to pay compensation, unless it was extraordinary circumstances, which it doesn't appear to be.0 -
Strawberries1 has also posted on the BA thread, much of this is being duplicated as a result. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0

Have the details been put into something like Botts online checker? If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

I've put details into botts - they seem to think you have a claim.
I stand corrected, apologies for the misinformation strawberries.
I hope you receive a speedy payout. Please let us kow the outcome for future claimants. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Recently flew from Manchester to Dubai and back with Emirates.
We experienced delays with - 12 hours on the outbound and 4 hours on the return flight home! We have written to Emirates for a Compensation Claim. Their response - is a joke - a mouse on the plane caused a 12 hour delay for which they are saying is construed as 'force majeure' and hence are not willing to give any compensation! On the return a plane technical fault caused the delay and again they are saying is construed as 'force majeure'
Not sure what to do next!! Anyone else experience similar issues with Emirates?0 -

Hi GAZ2312,
Yes I recall the mouse problem a few weeks ago iirc. I believe that the aircraft was fumigated. It's surprising what trouble and expense a single UAE mouse can cause.
It's very unfortunate for Emirates but this does not count as an EC and so compensation is due for the outward journey. The return does not come under the EC261 regulations, so nothing for that except a good will gesture perhaps.
Emirates have already stated, to other passengers, that they are not due compensation but they are wrong about this.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Emirates will be feeling the pain after losing a significant legal challenge in the CoA. I suspect they will vent their frustration on EVERY claim that comes in, valid or not.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Thanks for the reply.
Any suggestion on the best route to progress with a claim. Initial claim has been rejected by Emirates.0 -

You only have a few options due to Emirates not being a member of any ADR adjudication scheme.
You could contact the CAA, who will have to take it on due to no alternative being available. The only other 'free' option would be to start legal proceedings via MCOL. Please Google and then download "Vaubans guide" for assistance with MCOL and much more.
If you don't have the time or inclination to DIY you could contact a firm of NWNF solicitors such as Bott & Co. This option would cost you around 33% of the compensation awarded. However, I would not recommend using an unregulated, claim assistance company.

I couldn’t agree more about not using unregulated companies0
