I have just bought everything I need to make some. Can't decide which recipe to use yet though. I am leaving it until tomorrow though as I want to watch the footie tonight.

I have melted chocolate on top of these but they looked beautiful in the hampers I made at Christmas when I dipped them so they were half covered. I used white chocolate for some and dark for the others.

My friend's DH can only eat white chocolate which is why I made some for him and plain chocolate ones for her. He ate his in one sitting and when she went to eat hers, he'd eaten half of each one, right up to the chocolate line. :rotfl:

These biscuits are the best I've ever made and I've not had anyone eat just one. Thank you for the recipe. :T

    Help!

I feel like experimenting and doing twinks hobnobs recipe but I have no self raising flour, only plain. Do I add baking powder for the same effect? I am complete baking novice but fancy a go as I did banana bread the other day and want to continue my success with some biccies!

it would be better to use self raising flour but i found this, not sure if its any help but remember to sift the baking powder and flour

Thanks twink. I wiki'd the question and got a few ways of doing it too. Made a boo-boo at the beginning by putting in 1 and 1/2 tsps of bicarb instead of baking powder, but put the same amount baking powder in too and sifted really well and hoped for the best.

Had no golden syrup so used maple syrup.

They have come out scrummy! Really light and fluffy and chewy. I'm dead pleased. OH peered at them suspiciously and said he would try half of mine cos he didn't want a whole one, then went on to eat three. :D

    I'm liking this baking lark.
