I use the twinks recipe and it's delicious! I normally half the quantity and make 12-14 big fat chewy cookies with them. They'd be lovely with raisins or choc chips that way :D
  • Made these this afternoon with my DD (age 3) and DS (just 2) and we had great fun and they are yummy. Thank you twink for the recipe:j

Olliebeak glad you liked the hobnobs, i made some today and got 61 from the mix, they were little though

Goodness, they must have been the size of guinea pig droppings. I suppose you gobbled up 60 of them in one sitting followed by neat whisky. :D

Has anyone tried melting chocolate on top a la McVities chocolate covered Hobnobs?

I have melted chocolate on top of these but they looked beautiful in the hampers I made at Christmas when I dipped them so they were half covered. I used white chocolate for some and dark for the others.

My friend's DH can only eat white chocolate which is why I made some for him and plain chocolate ones for her. He ate his in one sitting and when she went to eat hers, he'd eaten half of each one, right up to the chocolate line. :rotfl:

These biscuits are the best I've ever made and I've not had anyone eat just one. Thank you for the recipe. :T

Now just to even up things, I want to make some of AussieLass's Anzac's.

Is it OK to use ordinary porridge oats in these - or does it have to be the 'oatmeal/rolled oats'?

If it has to be the oatmeal/rolled oats - does Ready Brek substitute ok for rolled oats  ?

Not really a complete thicko - just not very good at improvisation  .

Ollie - You have me confused now. :D I use rolled oats which is the stuff you make porridge out of over here. There are two types of oats the *normal* ones and the quick ones which are just whizzed in a blender and a bit finer. Both work well.

I don't know what Ready Brek is so can't help you there. You can always try it though.

    Hi AussieLass

Ready Brek is like porridge oats, but much finer - more or less instant - often used for toddlers' breakfasts or older children who don't like the coarser texture of 'real porridge'.

As I've got 'proper' porridge oats in at the moment, I'll go with those (the same as I used for twink's hobnobs yesterday).

Many thanks for the quick reply - especially as it must be something 'silly o'clock' where you are :T !
