    I would recommend Jack Monroe's website for frugal food, as an alternative;

Bella79 posted here that she'd adapted twinks hobnob recipe to flapjacks, is that the one you're looking for?
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

I use this one as its quite idiot proof :D cannot remember where I found it though - somewhere on the internet...

    easy flapjack recipe

    Ingredients
Serves : 4 (in your dreams....so double up ingredients for a decent portion)

    • 110g butter
    • 40g sugar
    • 2 tablespoons golden syrup (maple flavour golden syrup is nice too)
    • 175g porridge oats

    Directions
    Prep:20min ›
    Cook:15min ›
    Ready in:35min

Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a tin with a little butter. Or cake release spray ;)

Put the butter, sugar and golden syrup in to a saucepan and put it on low heat and mix till it has melted and the sugar has dissolved.

Take it off the heat and add the porridge .
Mix well till the oats are coated (if not add a little bit more golden syrup).
Pour the delicious mixture in to a tin or tray. Flatten down with a the back of a spoon.
Place the flapjack in to the oven for 10to 20 minutes until golden brown on the top.

Can add dried fruit to the mix or coat with chocolate when cooked.

    Yum :)

This morning I got the LoveFood newsletter. One of the articles was on homemade hobnobs and there was a link to the recipe.

I wonder if Peter Sidwell got the recipe from here, as it's pretty much exactly the same (slight difference as he uses metric so the imperial measurements come to 8.8oz rather than Twinks 8oz).

We make twink's recipe with sultanas in it. It's the favourite of both DSs, so have made it so many times I could practically do it in my sleep!!

    Lovely recipe, twink!
    Saving, decluttering and doing alright.

I made Twinks' hob nobs for the first time today and they are absolutely delicious, just wondering how long they will keep in a tin, OH doesn't really eat biscuits and whilst I could probably polish off a batch in a couple of day it probably wouldn't do my waistline much good :)
Worrying won't stop bad stuff from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the good.
