Came apon this thread by accident and made a batch last night. used butter instead of marg and honey instead of syrup so I could make organic ones. OH loved them and insisted on quality testing each tray:D I'll be adding rasins and nuts to the next batch. Used to make biscuits lots about 30+yrs back but lost my recipe book. No more buying biscuits anymore, thanks twink:beer:0

I'd probably give it a go if that was all I had. Have you tried it ?
Made my second batch last night and added 100gm of sultanas and 100gm of chopped walnuts it was OH's suggestion and they were/are scrummy. This has gone into my little book and already been shared. Such an easy one to remember and quote, but oh my the calories.0 -

Sorry, I should have reported back. Yes I used the baking powder and they turned out great. I added a teaspoon as when I googled it someone suggested doubling the quantity. They were absolutely gorgeous and I look forward to experimenting with other flavours :-)0 -
Please can someone point me in the right direction for Twinks flapjack recipe and Weezles website.

The Twinks thread is here0 -
oh that's such a shame about the website! I've pointed people in it's direction and still use it for recipes sometimes - wish I'd copied now!0

That was such a great site, I used to use it quite a bit, do you know why it closed? If it was funding I am sure that some kind of crowd funding could raise enough money to get it up and running again.
I have Twinks hobnob recipe, it's our favourite but someome mentioned that she had a flapjack recipe too and I thought I would like to try it as the hobnobs are so fantastic

I have a flapjack recipe someone on here gave me years ago - when i complained that mine were too crunchy
Here goes
500g porridge oats
250g butter
4 tbsp syrup
1/2 tin of condensed milk - or make double to use the whole tin
240g of brown sugar (but i use much less, probably around 150g, you can't tell)
oven at 160 degrees
line a 13x9x2 tin with baking paper. Melt butter, sugar and syrup in a pan, add milk. Then add oats when it's all melted and stir in
Shove in the tin and bake for 15 mins.
I score mine while its still in the tin, just out of the oven. Leave for a short time before putting on a wire rack to cool completely.
I tend to make double and freeze loads - they freeze really well. The condensed milk gives them that chewy texture that you normally only get from bought flapjacks.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

the wayback website archives the internet and is very useful for finding deleted websites like this. sometimes pages are missing so its a bit pot luck.
