    I made my twinks using half measures of all the ingredients, and I replaced about a third of the sugar with finely chopped crystallised ginger - they were delicious! I find them very satisfying and filling too.

    #Had luck to find Whitworth's crystallised ginger in Nmkt Thing-me-Bobs(wonderful Aladdin's cave)a while back, 5 for £1, so bought 20 tubs.
    Ginger is a wonderful replacement/addition in such recipes - AND in honey rice bubble square - SEE OTHER THREAD.
    Off to make choc crackles now.

    dd added nutella spread to some and she has decided we are having, cherry ones, choc chip, raisen, and many more in the next week:o mmmmm they are yum

    i am trying so hard not to make another batch but my resolve is weakening everytime i see thriftladys pic :D glad you and your dd like them wokkies, i have used ground ginger in mine and my dd tried cinnamon, havent tried the choc chip though or coating the bottom of the biscuits with chocolate yet

    :T Hi Twink, the hob nobs went like lightening! They were so good. My Spanish student took the last two for her lunch, she loved them. Very moreish!
