Made these yesterday, and now they're all gone! DS1 had 2, DH probably had 4 and I scoffed the rest... bye bye diet! Oh, well, what's the point of dieting if I can't shovel down nigh on a whole batch of sugar-loaded biscuits once in a while!!! :lol

About reducing the sugar in the hobnobs for diabetics, dont think it would work as u need the sugar to make the biscuits crunchy, would make it too into a cake mixture, there wouldnt be much difference for the carbs as already mentioned.

Just try and limit as to how many u eat:D

The cinnamon as mum said is great if u are diabetic, ds1 snaps these up and when he was on a school trip he didnt go lo once, which is great:j

Try adding cranberries into the mix next time.

this is the recipe i use
    8oz sr flour
    8oz sugar
    8oz porridge oats
    8oz margarine
    1tbsp golden syrup
    1tbsp hot water
    1/2 tsp bic soda
mix flour, oats and sugar, melt marg, syrup and water in a pan stir in bic soda and add to dry mix, mix well, make smallish balls and put on greased tray and flatten slightly with a fork, 180oc for 15 mins, cool on the tray, you just want them golden in oven not brown

    Thank you so much, :T
After seeing everybody raving at how nice these were i have just made them with my daughter and she loved helping.
We got 48 out of the mixture and we must be down a dozen already.
We used demerera sugar and they taste fantastic.
What a wonderfully cheap and easy to follow recipe i will deffinately be making them again.

glad they are being enjoyed and of course the porridge oats will give sustained energy and there are no E numbers etc to worry about, esp if made with butter, will have to try rolling out the biscuits
