    Bums! I just went to make another batch and I've run out of golden syrup - don't suppose there is an alternative to this, is there? I've got black treacle but somehow don't think that would have the desired effect LOL!

    Nix if you have honey you could use that, i did once, was thinking of using treacle but didnt, not sure how it would taste, might be okay

    To add a signature to your posts (that's the bit under the line;) ) click on your user name and you will get a list of options. Click on 'send a private message to moanymoany' and you will get a page with various options including 'edit signature'. click on that and you can write whatever you like and it will appear on all your posts.

    I'm off for another hobnob:D

    tell your student, moanymoany, that for a small fee i will hand deliver the recipe to her grandma :D:D
  • me and dd1&2 have just been making these hobnobs for 1st time they smell yummy but i am being a really mean mummy and making them wait til they are cool before tucking in

    Ok, had Tesco delivery today to stock up on oats and butter ;)

    Time to experiment! :D

    I've got crystalised ginger, chopped dates, apricots, choc chips and a variety of spices in the storecupboard so this is going to be fun lol :drool:

    Just one thing, as a newly diagnosed Diabetic, I understand oats are good for slow-release carbs, but is there some way I can reduce/replace some of the sugar content in this recipe as my blood glucose tends to be rather high at the moment :o

    They are in the oven now! Fingers crossed!!!! :)
