  • Hi all I have made twinks hob nobs and they are lovely! For me it ended up being a hobnob 'cake' as all the biscuits melted together... then I tried another batch last week (adding the orange zest thanks for the tip yorksbabe) and the cookies were enormous but at least did not merge together... the balls I was doing were small, guess I need to make them tiny, or find a mould!

  • I have been making these for a while (thanks, Twink) and they go down very well with everyone who tries them so I quadrupled the recipe and made a huge batch for the Macmillan coffee morning today. Some people enjoyed them with their coffee and others bought bags of 8 to take home. Macmillan did very well from it!! I'm interested to read all the variations and will have to try the orange version soon. Thanks, everyone.

Help - I so want to make these now but haven't got SR flour - just plain - can I use plain with baking powder? - if so how much please?
  • I made these yesterday to keep myself busy. I had no marg so I used butter. Had to use a bit more than the recipe suggested as they weren't sticking, but after that they were lovely!

They were also a bit moist after 15 mins, so baked for another 5 mins until a little less firm and left to cool. Delish!

Oh I made these last night from a recipe in an old cookbook (Think it's called 500 Cakes Biscuits and Breads, and doesn't have any pictures).

I've made them for the last few years and everyone loves them, exact same recipe, is this where you got it from Twink? Think they're called oat crunches in the book, it's a great recipe book if its the same one, just no pics boohoo.
    Love em! :j

Just finished my 1st attempt! Ended up rising and joining up to fill the whole baking tray! Divided up to create lovely flapjacks! :rotfl: Kids love em and want em for lunchboxes! Will definitely be serving up for the trick or treaters. :j

    Thanks for the recipe,

First time poster but long time lurker and have to say these are delicious. Very quick and easy to make and very, very tasty. So much so I have to make them every day for my lot but it's so easy I genuinely don't mind :T
