Hi everyone, I've just sorted out the stuff for a batch of Twinks' but have no bicarb left. I don't want to waste them so can I do without, or use baking powder instead? I used half white s/r flour and half wholemeal s/r flour as always and Willow instead of marg. Please help?
THanks, Jackie X
ETA, panic over I did a search on the original thread and someone else had done it, so I'll give it a try anyway. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -

I'm just about to make some of Twinks hobnobs. I've read 2 pages of this post but haven't a whole day to read 83 pages!!!!
So can anyone tell me-do they freeze? Theres only me and dd and I'm fat enough already!!
ThankyouJuly grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.

Can't say whether or not they freeze well - they're never around long enough to find out in this house! My DS's 1&2 have built-in 'Twink Radar' and arrive within 5 mins of them coming out of the oven.
Calorie-wise, it helps to make them slightly smaller :rotfl: - just don't 'half-dip' them in melted-chocolate though.

I've now realised that if I'd read the top of this page I'd have got my answer!
But I see what you mean Olliebeak-they are delicious. My third tray full are in and I've already eaten 2 of the biccies warm. They may be all gone by the time dd comes home in 2 hours!!

Well just tried these for the first time - yummy scrummy!! I've got the second tray in and have already eaten 2 still warm. Think I am going to freeze some mixture so that I don't polish off the lot in one go0

The amazing thing is, if you can keep them for longer than 10 minutes - difficult- they go crispy in the biscuit tin, my DD loves them and as she is dairy intolerent she can eat them!Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
