Made a batch last Tuesday using honey, they were really nice and not too sweet.
Split the batch into two one lot plain and the other I mixed in Sultanas.
This week I will split into 5, plain, sultana, coconut, crystallized ginger and hazel nut (whole, blanched), can't wait.
I think I will also try these with one of the brown sugars I have in the cupboard not sure which yet!

Firstly can I just say I wish I'd never come across this thread, I don't eat cakes, biscuits, chocolate, crisp etc. On reading this recipe I thought Mmm I'll give that a go, perhaps I should have stayed clear :rotfl: ;)

I did the biscuit variety as above (I omitted the water) and used just over 2oz of Dark Muscovado Sugar (all I had left) and the other 6oz Natural Demerara.

Of course I had to taste them all to see what they are like! ;)
They are lovely and rich, which do I prefer Mmm, I don't know, they are so different and yummy, I thought Crystallized Ginger, ahh but the Coconut are nice, Sultana, Ohh those scrummy whole Hazel nut and even the poor relation the plain oat biscuit is delish.
I may have to do another taste test tomorrow, can I justify the amount of calories though. :D

Oats are good for you and lower your chloresterol.

Fruit (raisins etc.) are good for you.

    Nuts are good for you!

Honey, sugar or syrup help you avoid additives!

    Fibre is good for you

    QED

    Eat more hobnobs!!!;)

Thanks will try that, I have been making oat cookies I think they are similar. I use the sachets of golden syrup porridge, gots loads as I stocked up when it was on special offer lol.

Any ways I use 4oz soya butter (less fat), 4oz sugar, 4oz plain floor and 4 sachets of porridge to make them extra oaty.
