i sometimes add an xtra spoonfull of golden syrup to make them more chewy yummy sometimes also a few handfulls of coconut mmmmmmmmmmmm0

Esor
I add extra syrup and deliberately make them so they run into each other when they cook.
I take them out of the oven and use a knife to cut round the shape they should be and then let them cool.
DD's student friends loved the last ones just as much as the ones that I put ginger and cinnamon in.
If someone is covering them in chocolate- how about just dipping half a hobnob vertically into the chocolate so they look more unusual?"This site is addictive!"

I'm planning on doing homemade food hampers for family this year and after all the posts about the hobnobs
my idea for xmas has been stolen! i have tons of celophane and red ribbon left over from making 5billion favour bags when we got married last year so am going to make hob-nobs (a la twinks) dipped half in chocolate for the ladies and cheese straws (a la Mr Hugh fernly wotsit) for the fellas. We're having a homemade christmas so i've also been making xmas cards and salt dough decorations with my nearly 2 year old. My brand new carpet is covered in glitter even after hoovering and looks just beautiful and festive!
Sorry to diverse!!!!0 -

Last night I added chopped dried fruit to the mix and made a batch and divided into two, added cinnamon to half and then pressed that into a round cake tin, It probably came about an inch up the pan and baked for 25 mins. When it cooled I drizzled with milk chocolate. I used the other half to make biscuits (making them much smaller than DH likes
)
The half with cinnamon done in the cake tin was absolutely glorious and to my shame, it didn't last the evening.:o0 -
