more dodginess from jobcentre. they didnt like the fact i havent gave them access to my ujm account. asked me why. i said simply because its my private account. they then moaned it means they cant send me messages. they refered to a list of courses that they had and said if they thought i might be interested they could send me a message about them. i thought do i really want you sending me messages saying i start a course tomorrow. they assume you have nothing else to do. they have sent me on some pointless course about selling yourself. they said they are looking forward to seeing me afterwards to find out what i think. i just thought how stupid are you, dont you realise i will do what everyone else does and just tell them what they want to hear. i was tempted to say when am i supposed to fulfill the several hours a day on my jsa agreement while on the course. i will be excused from signing while on it. the last time that happened i had problems getting paid due to having been put on a training allowance. so i asked politely will i get jsa or a training allowance. i explained about the issue i had had before. the response was shocking in my opinion. they said its more important to worry about doing something to get you a job than whether you get paid or not.

yes but like you said they arent meant to put having a phone line as requirement to get benefit.
You know how it is with these idiots, they want things, once you've done it they lose interest, they want to tick their boxes.

They want a phone number, they'll probably never phone you.

So the jobcentre ignores that you need money and claim more pointless courses will help? How out if touch with reality are they?

the course is mandatory but it isnt forced labour. it will be sat in a training room all day for 2 weeks. it was showing a concern about whether a problem with payments that happened before would happen again that was considered wrong of me.
the course will mean i have to miss my voluntary work for 2 weeks. i bet if i moaned about that they would have said its more important to do things that will help you get a job. of course come april i will be required to do voluntary work then. suddenly voluntary work will be the thing that is helpful.

I misread but it's still probably a pointless course and hypocritical of them to make you miss volunteering and then expect you to labour at their command

as they went to get the print out for it they said this is intensive, meaning the post wp thing not the course. in other words they are going to keep sending me on courses. apparently there is a feedback questionaire for the course. if it is anonymous i will certainly not be holding back.

I went on a course that dealt with cvs, interviews and money cos some apparently Jobseeker's forget how to handle money so the adviser claimed
It was a tedious fortnight and it could have been done in a few days only and the tutor was a shallow judgemental woman

And when he's not on their wonderful course, they'd want him & others volunteering, until next pointless mandatory course or activity.

Which supposedly helps but I don't think it does as much as they claim

after this post wp thing finishes there is the new workfare thing for 6 months. then what? are they going to keep creating new courses to send people on? surely at some point people will get sent back on the wp. having multiple courses just means even more money wasted.
