why did they ask you then??:o;):rotfl:
    exactly!
one point was how come i am required to do stuff 365 days a year while other people only have to do stuff 4 or 5 days per week each week. i said the problem is what if i was ill one day or had a funeral to go to. they said we would take that into consideration and it wouldnt be a problem. i thought yeah right so i say i didnt do anything one day coz i had the flu and some nasty adviser isnt going to sanction me because i cant prove i had the flu. i mentioned xmas day. they said obviously we dont expect that much to be done on xmas day. so again that wont stop a nasty adviser sanctioning me.
my only concern now is i may well have come across as if i am trying to do as little as possible. i forgot to point out that i would probably do jobsearch most days anyway.

Neither expecting you to work overtime, or to travel by car, is unreasonable, either. Both are perfectly fair requirements of an employer.
thats an employer talking. overtime should be voluntary. i remember a former employer of mine. he used to toddle off home at 4pm or earlier while expecting the workforce to do 10/12 hour days when only contracted to do 8 hours.
  • More like pragmatic comments that some don't want to hear as they carry on doing the same and getting the same results. As you've evidenced here. Again.

So you believe I always get interviews for a totally different job or that I always get interviewers who have an attitude problem? You have already pointed out that you feel all of the members are just whingers anyway
Your comments aren't pragmatic but they can be basic stuff, abusive and insulting
I shouldn't keep feeding you as you are just trolling

As a committed jobseeker why would you be concerned about what others do? Surely your commitment is and job seeking efforts is what matters most. I'm pretty sure an advisor is capable of recognising the difference between a very occasional funeral/sick day and serial offenders who use funerals/sick as excuses. Your post count and every day posting suggest sickness/funerals are very occasional anyway. Have you considered an advisor may perceive a claimant to be nasty and objectionable in the same way you perceive them as nasty, and be more inclined to sanction on details...just saying.

That's an inflexible employee talking. Employers often require overtime to be done to meet KPI's and deadlines. Nothing wrong in the employer leaving early and expecting their employees to do overtime.

If you are really good you hit all the KPI's in 'work time' and no need for over time.

I dont think sensibleadvice is unemployed bashing. I think certain people in here are insistent on blaming others for their situation. Some in here would defend Hitler if he was unemployed.

He is and so are you.

People don't blame the system for their unemployment, they're saying that the system is not fit for purpose.

Do you think the system is fit for purpose?

    How about leading by example?

Plus do your duties within the day
Overtime may be needed occasionally but not daily

An interviewer asking if you're flexible enough to work overtime and/or hours to suit business needs is quite a common question. As is asking about transport. From these two questions alone the employer can form an opinion on whether the applicant is likely to turn up on time and support business requirements. If you perceive those questions as 'always being interviewed for a different job' I'd suggest it's you that has the attitude problem.

Still I suppose you know what you're doing and although I don't know you I'd take a wild guess you've been out of work for some time with nothing on the horizon any time soon. But let's not be too pragmatic, otherwise some folk would take truths as insults.
