I'm still waiting for your explanation.

Was it luck do you think?
TBH, if you were moaning about the system, how many days you had to look for work, how many jobs you had to apply for, nit picking over whether an interviewer should ask about flexibility etc etc like many on here it wouldn't be luck it'd be a miracle.

Any idea how I might have got those offers?

OK, for arguments sake, let's go with your assumption that WP isn't fit for purpose. So after 12 odd months of not finding work prior to WP, discovering WP isn't fit for purpose, what now? How about taking responsibility for own job search via a process that you do believe is fit for purpose? Or do you think moaning about WP after WP will help find work?

Of course it won't help you to find work but you assume people pointing out the flaws in the system will hinder them.

    I don't think it will.

You forget, Donna expects an employer to fit in with her needs, on her terms, and at her convenience, and if they don't, they are being unreasonable.

It is not her responsibility to find work, it is everyone else's to find it for her.
They expect the same of their advisor too:

    - only 3-4 days searching/week they say
    - don't expect me to show you what I've looked for without great fuss they say
    - don't pretend the name of allowance implies job seeking, that's just propaganda they say
    - any queries into validity of claim and level of job seeking = nasty nasty advisor they say

One can only imagine what comments may come when the process gets more robust.

Again, Podge52 can't be expected to find a job themselves, he or she should be entitled to sit on their !!!! all day long, and have someone else find a job for them.

You don't understand, people like Podge52 never had any chances in life. I mean yes, they had free schooling from age 5 to age 18, subsidized classes and university after that, and a generous safety net if they still needed help, but other than that, what were they given?

No, it's not possibly their fault that they are unemployed, it is yours, and mine, and we should be ashamed that we aren't doing more for them.

To be fair, as I've posted before my experience wasn't as hard as some on here but I have had the experience of being treated like a commodity.

I should imagine you got your offers the same way as any number of employed/newly unemployed job seekers did.

The WP was set up as the JC and Gov and general public believe if you have no job you have not got the skills to get one so the WP will help you get these skills to do better in the search for a job

That's why I took over the session for Interview Technique with people on the session with me asking ME questions and the advisor sat there looking embarrassed after banning me from answering the questions like

'What do you do the night before an interview'?

    and

If you were a biscuit, what biscuit would you be'?
If WP is designed for LCD, perhaps applicants who aren't that yet end up on WP should be asking themselves questions like

'I have x skills and experience, why can't I get an interview'
'I have x skills and experience, why can't I get a job offer'
'have I really got the skills and experience'
'its been x months + y applications without interview, is there something wrong with my application process'
'why is my application:interview ratio so low'
'why is my interview: offer ratio x:0'

BTW, what biscuit would you be?

Better to stay quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

    LCD?

Why do you think no one at all ever asks these questions too?

What about the WP advisor asking me 'Why are you here'?

Why can you accept that people do say if you are not working we will not interview you regardless of experience?

If you got interviews at the beginning and not now its the length of time out of work for sure.

Can not get a job offer if you can not get an interview.

Biscuit? I laughed and said no FD would ever ask such a stupid question (oh yes there was the 'what animal would you be too) but she made us all answer so I said a Viscount as it was a classic British biscuit with many layers/flavours :)

You're confusing pointing out what they perceive as a flaw with constant system, govt, process, advisor, level of applications etc bashing.

To the point where their default mindset is stating why they can't find a job because of those excuses and absolute expectations that them finding work is someone else's responsibility.

To be fair we all start newly unemployed. I'm not saying it doesn't get harder to find work with time but there comes a point where you have to consider taking the LCD job to stop the rot. And don't pretend that looking for work from with work is easy.
