    Applicants apply for jobs.

    Applicants are interviewed for jobs.

Applicants get the jobs on merit and on the basis they're fit for purpose.

The JC system is one method of finding work but by no means the only one, nor should it be.

How does this address anything in my post.

Did you see the title of this thread?

This thread is not about monster or totaljobs or any other jobsite other than the dwp and the workprogram.

Do you seriously think that because people don't post their experiences of other jobsites that they don't use them?

Is the work program fit for purpose?

As the claimant and applicant you must understand that the job seeking responsibilities ultimately lie with the job seeker.

Advice, support, coaching etc is fine but when it comes down to ultimate responsibility for finding work, that lies with claimant, their skills, achievements application and interview technique etc. Expectations that others will or should sort it for them are misguided.
I never said it wasn't I said the JC tell EVERYONE on JSA that the ONLY WAY to find a job is by using the UJM and that no other site has jobs like on the UJM and it has the most job advertised in the whole of the UK

Other sites are not forced on your to use and you can use as many or as few as you like from one job seeker to another but you all have to use the UJM but they cant not even stop the scammers posting on there.

See thread about CH4 news and the file they have given to the police.

Is that meant to be a well done present? :D LOL

    I jest - well done

Thanks but I wasn't after approbation. I was simply pointing out that because you are long term unemployed it doesn't mean you don't have a good work ethic.

    Alright captainsesible explain my situation.

Twelve months ago I was on the work program. doing just the same as these guys on here now. Then out of the blue interview and job offer. There was nothing to distinguish between this application and a thousand others I'd sent.

Now before I received that offer you would have had me labeled as negative, lazy, workshy, moaning, blaming the system etc.etc.

The reality is that I am a hard worker and my employer recognises this, only today going in after a weeks holiday I had an email telling me I had won tickets to see Russell Howard at the end of the month, and all down to my hard work.

If any on here were to get lucky (yes lucky) like I did, I don't doubt a lot would behave in employment exactly as I do.
They're your words, I haven't labelled anyone those things though it is interesting how some attach labels to themselves.

I could just as easily ask you to explain my situation. Never been out of work, last time I was made redundant, 6 months notice, started looking in earnest with 2 months left, applied for 70 jobs and got 4 offers within 2 those months. How lucky is that?

you never bothered to read what I said
overtime, cars and the actual job are normally what is in the job advertisement
this was a job interview where they focused on a totally different job

I did read what you said, you are making up idiotic complaints because you do not want to work, and then expect sympathy, then react badly when people don't scratch you head and agree with you.

You will never find a decent job, and will never accept that it is your fault. Fortunately we now have a government that will cut back your payments again and again until you get the message.

Of course - some people think we have never worked before and become lazy. Far from it.

I'm still waiting for your explanation.

Was it luck do you think?

That's an inflexible employee talking. Employers often require overtime to be done to meet KPI's and deadlines. Nothing wrong in the employer leaving early and expecting their employees to do overtime.

You forget, Donna expects an employer to fit in with her needs, on her terms, and at her convenience, and if they don't, they are being unreasonable.

It is not her responsibility to find work, it is everyone else's to find it for her.

OK, for arguments sake, let's go with your assumption that WP isn't fit for purpose. So after 12 odd months of not finding work prior to WP, discovering WP isn't fit for purpose, what now? How about taking responsibility for own job search via a process that you do believe is fit for purpose? Or do you think moaning about WP after WP will help find work?

The WP was set up as the JC and Gov and general public believe if you have no job you have not got the skills to get one so the WP will help you get these skills to do better in the search for a job

That's why I took over the session for Interview Technique with people on the session with me asking ME questions and the advisor sat there looking embarrassed after banning me from answering the questions like

'What do you do the night before an interview'?

    and

If you were a biscuit, what biscuit would you be'?
