The computers being installed in Jobcentres are known as Internet Access Devices (IADs). All Jobcentres should have them by now and there's 6000 more being installed. They are for Universal Jobmatch and Universal Credit when (if) it gets started.
You do not have to use your home computer if you don't choose to because they can't force you to accept cookies and UJ is unuseable without them enabled.0 -
It's 4 weeks into my After The Work Programme Care Plan and so far nothing - my "advisor" hasn't kept a single telephone appointment. It's obvious the JC don't have the will or the resources to bother with it.I didn't ask to be born!0

Hi i have been reading this thread and the other pretty much since the beginning of July once i found out the JC's plan from the WP.
I was referred back to the JC from the WP my interview was today.
All that was said was that she thinks my lack of work experience (past 3 years) is holding me back and will consider putting me in to work training via the local college.
She has referred me to a Agency Jobs Fair that is in about a weeks time at the Jobcentre and i don't see her again till the end of next month but still have my regular signing times in between that.
I now have to apply for 4 jobs a week minimum (be it either advertised, word of mouth or speculative) from it being contact at least 2 employers per week by any means minimum ... What have others been increased to? (If so.)
Also how long do we get these advisors for is it till we sign off after finding a job or for a time period?
All in all it wasn't as bad as i expected... Well maybes for now.0 -

Word on the 'street' is to expect to go back to the WP possibly after 6 months!!!
A couple of things spring to mind.
Firstly, if this post WP 'support' is so necessary, then why is it not in place of the WP? £billions could be saved!
Secondly, if clients are mandated back to the WP after 6 months, they'll be going back to a scheme that clearly does not work. Hence the post WP alleged support.
Clearly a merry-go-round of insanity devised by the odd and warped mind of Mr Duncan Smith!0 -

As my sister said tonight to me 'its a gross miss use of tax payers money' as my WP provider have lied on my exit report which I got from the DWP after having to make a request from them and now I have the beginning of a formal complaint with the WP. Lets see what they have to say this time!!We’ve had to remove your signature. So that's 4 actual jobs per week plus extra i.e spec letters, contacting employers etc etc...?
Wonder after the 6 months (if were referred back to the WP) will it be revised and lowered back to what it was or stop the same.0 -
