No, you should be doing it for yourself. No one has suggested you need to be seeking work for 56 hours each week, but you should certainly be doing more than the bare minimum, especially when you have been claiming for as long as you have.0 -

Nope I disagree as every hour there are new jobs advertised so I read all of them that come up in my search and I use over 30 sites a day. We’ve had to remove your signature. It's a set time of job search *related*activity. That time could be a mixture of job searching, the amount of time it takes to apply for a job (if an application is taking 5 minutes to go through the job description, person spec, adapt your CV and write a cover letter or even fill in an application form, surely that's not going to be a very effective application) as well as other things that are going to help getting back in the labour market such as training, refreshing skills on things like excel or other relevant software packages, researching companies for prospective approaches and interviews. The list of jobseeking type things people could do with their time as a jobseeker isn't by any stretch exhaustive. I've got one customer who said that he found some instructive videos on YouTube which he was working through which, given his job goals I thought was a really good cheap way of doing what he is doing.0

Given that the state retirement age will probably be 70 by the time you retire you've got a ways to go yet!0
