The thread may I point out is meant to be about post WP support and since you know nothing about it what could you possibly contribute?

    Case in point.

Well no, I haven't implied anyone is intentionally not looking for work. Again you are playing the victim card. What myself and numerous other posters have said is that many of the long term employed on here are continuously doing the same thing over and over again, getting the same result, ie nothing, and starting the same thing again.

They then cry for threads to be locked, for members to be punished for 'bullying', seeking reinforcement that what they have been doing is the right thing from other people just like them.

You seem hell bent on patting people on the back, telling them to keep up the good work knowing full well that it is unlikely to lead to employment, you should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm simply stating the reality for the long term unemployed.

Also let me say that when you resort to insults it's a clear indication that you have lost the argument.

So, specifically, which barriers do you think can't be overcome?
i was thinking more about my own which i dont want to talk about publicly. perhaps others can mention some.

No, not at all. I do think that many portray negativity in their application. Negativity they can't see for themselves. Negativity evidenced by their results. I'd bet that most of the negative posters on here can't switch that off in their applications; again evidenced in their lack of results.
perhaps you could give us an example of a sentence from an application that includes this negativity to give us an idea?

You're correct in guessing that. But the point is there are jobs. Harder, to get for some, but not impossible. Claims there aren't any jobs are just lazy excuses.
personally i would never say there are no jobs.

Claiming there are no jobs, blaming systems, policies and procedures, WP and all the other excuses is the reality of many long term unemployed.

That reality won't change until they take a honest look at themselves and the underlying reasons why they are long term unemployed. Things like changing to a positive mindset, positive approach to work, work ethic, taking a radical look at their CVs, how they recird, apply and follow up on applications etc.

No doubt they'll claim all that is wrong, theyre doing all they can and still be posting the same next year as they did last year and the year before and the year before that.

Indeed. In fact perhaps one of them could even start a thread "Barriers to finding employment" where specific barriers could be listed and solutions posted to them.

I agree that for many your opening sentence is true, but what about the remainder, why are they still long term unemployed?

Not enough jobs to go round perhaps.
Of course I wouldn't expect you to agree with me because you say there are jobs aplenty.

I was referring to their whole application. Things like poor spelling and grammar, poor handwriting (yes some do still write), cliched responses, cut and pastes, one lazy sentence where a paragraph in expected, no examples or evidence given...I could go on. When I get chance I'll post a few gems.

There are jobs - who's said there isn't? - but there are far more jobseekers.
If every job was filled there would still be millions unemployed. What is your miraculous solution for those people?
