Interview when you sign? No not at my JC at all. That's an appointment you are talking about not fortnightly signing. At the booked apts you don't show a job search.

20/30 mins? LOL More like 2 that's how long I am at my JC to sign. They sign one person every few minutes.

You have said I could get a sanction if I don't apply for enough so I show them all that I apply for - its the JC fault they have no time to check them all one at a time not mine.

Condense it all so they can sanction me? I don't think so. What if they then produced this list of jobs you talk about that I could have applied for? Then what?

That is not difficult at all that's doing what it expected surely?

I'll repeat it once again sign on and advisor interview are 2 different things!!! sign on are no longer than 5 mins, they are assistant advisors they see nearly 100 people a day if not more so no they don't have the time to spend all day with you.

so you cant provide them with one sheet showing everything you've done? or you cant email to the advisor in advance?

I'm sure since you know so much you are aware that you don't even need to provide the information in writing?? some of my customers verbally give me the info, show it me on there phone, email it to me etc

as long as the information is comprehensive and checkable I really don't care if they write it on a cereal box.

and still waiting to hear about all this help you asked for and was told no???

Like I say my named 'advisor' does not sign me so I cant email her the list of jobs as when I sign I'd have no proof with me.

If they don't have the time to spend 'all day' how do they get this list together of jobs people haven't applied for when people sign on?

I have never seen anyone read out a list of jobs and if they did how long would that take or show it on a phone (?)

I asked for help to get interviews and asked what was I doing wrong and was told I have a comprehensive and very good CV and a professional cover letter/s. I showed them a list of over 45 websites I use daily and a list of all the other avenues I used and a list of companies I have sent spec letters to.

I said what help can you give me to which the answer was 'we wouldn't be able help you, nor would we really need to spend much time with you'

You think this is the answer I wanted?

The signers wouldn't compile that list the advisors would.

Your advisor cannot help you get interviews, so she is correct in that.

how many cv's do you have if just the one, there is your first wrong move. you need to tailor it to each job you apply for. the same with the cover letters

Do you have recent work experience if not, then you need to do voluntary to give you a recent reference and show you are willing to do anything to get back on the ladder.

if your advisor is not helping then you need to speak to a higher manager and ask for further help. I cant speak for her as I don't know here circumstances.

but blaming the jc is not the way to go. no one there can get you a job. we are there to enable you and give you the tools to find your own job.

I have 3 CV's and various cover letters and I am not blaming the JC at all. You do not need to tell me about tailor making the applications at all.

I asked her for advice on being 'over qualified' for a job at Trip Advisor, Red Bull UK and Innocent Drinks and she had to ask her manager who came back with a reply that was just laughable.

And yes I apply for voluntary work too.

I will ask then and see what the reply is.

I will say I have been told it don't need to be written down even though my JSA says so.

Again not taking note of what I said, you should have more than 3 cv's tailor to each job is what I said.

anyway I have work in the morning with people who actually want and need my help.

    Night :)

I would say I am over qualified for some of the jobs I apply for. I have a specific CV for these, I do not lie everything in the CV I have done (most of it when I first started working), I just omit the more 'involved' aspects of my job from the CV.

One for retail, one for admin/accounts and one or senior accounts.

I tailor the cover letter for every role a cover letter the JC advisor says you do not need!! LOL

No idea why I'd need more than 3 CV's

Maybe on the 4th CV I take off all the accounts experience I have and have an empty CV

I was applying for roles call Staff Accountant, Senior Accounts Payable Executive etc

Nothing at all lead me to believe the roles were junior and I applied thinking what they had said in the advert was the truth and the job was as big as they said. I showed all adverts to the JC who agreed with me but the companies all said they wanted someone with no more than 2 yrs experience. Worries that I would get bored and leave or be more experienced then team members already there,

How would you know that unless the job advert said Junior in it.
