The JC were meant to call me today so spent the whole day in doors with both phones and no call.
that is annoying when that happens. the wp providers do that alot. i got told to make a new email and send them my cv via the new email. i asked in the email for them to confirm they got it ok. well i'm still waiting 2 days later. so they either havent read it yet or ignored me.

You are all off topic as no one has said still what support they have been offered? Anyone?

Your offered MWA. Infact your forced on to it. To make sure of that, They had Regulations changed :)

decided to give up on JC. I'm not doing MWA and will take a sanction and keep going to MWA referrals to waste their time and not go to MWA again. Make it a vicious circle for them.

MWA is pointless. You get a letter telling you that you are going to MWA Matching appointment to be matched to a job. Ask what jobs they have and told 1 charity shop in town who wont take you because your attitude. Council who make you walk miles kicking litter on to roads for road sweepers and another charity shop in another time. How the hell is that job matching and benefiting me.

When did you get told this? At your first appointment?

I have had mine and so far I am just attending to sign as normal. No mention of anything other than my meeting right after with the National Careers Service

AP007 I would sincerely doubt you'll get put on MWA. It's for people who need to have current work experience that aren't keen on work experience or voluntary work to keep them current. It sounds as though loony is having something of a bad experience as a WP returner.

Speaking as an adviser dealing with WP returners, I've found the general customers who have come back and are after some support and help are happy that they're getting some help in whatever guise it takes. There's a couple like AP007 that don't need anything except that elusive stroke of luck of the right job coming along and the last thing I would do would be to suggest something like MWA.

The key to my approach is to listen to what each person needs and work with them to be sure not to look at it as though one size fits all.

The reason I ask what you would like is people slate JCP for not getting them a job and not helping just sanctioning but they really need to understand how it works and we have/haven't got.

We can offer supported jobsearch, help with C.V. careers interviews. I always ask people why they feel they are not in work, how many jobs they are applying for, how many regular interviews and try to get to the bottom.
cards and the table and it is very mixed.

Some people are genuinly trying and are very employable they just need some luck, others their expectations are too high and they are very unwilling to consider other work. Some people refuse all offers of help cause they feel they know best and no matter what you say the fact their C.V screams they have been unemployed for several years they refuse to see it and accept any help and then to be perfectly honest their are those who will do anything to avoiod work, they are happy with their life and hate the fact that it is expected they should be applying for jobs. And others are very keen but totally unemployable and the type of work they may be capable of doing no longer exists in out work climate.

So yes poeple will always be unhappy, they may be mandated to provision they do not need and many certainly do not want to do but advisers are dictated to from above, at certain stages certain things are expected, working with customers claiming JSA comes with conditions same as claiming the benefit does.

I feel really frustrated that there isn't more we can do to help and believe me I raise it whenever I see my district lead.

We're genuinely not all out to get you guys! I'm sure there are exceptions to that rule but don't think we're all like that :-)

Yeah I know my advisor was ok and laughed at the failings of the WP. Both her and the National Careers service guy were amazed I was not in work and I must admit that upset me.

We spoke about voluntary work and I have applied for a lot of things and never hear back

She mentioned they have a new member of staff who is going to work with companies - ones who may contact my local job centre looking for staff and that's why I emailed her my CV but as he was new he is just getting things started.

Last reply from a agency I applied to was
'As a Senior Accounts Payable Clerk our client require someone who has between 2-4 years AP experience but who can progress in a role with gradual development towards Management Accounts. The role reports into a part-qualified Management Accountant.
We did not feel your wealth of AP experience was best suited to this particular vacancy as our clients have instructed. If anything more suitable arises we’ll be in touch'

    :(

Even got a knock back today for a job at ASDA!!!!! LOL

I would be interested to know which category I fall under. The problem as I see it is that putting someone into a category should be objective and based on evidence presented to the JC and WP provider. Generally, I have found that is the case and I would say the first category fits me quite well given I have a number of job options and I would not be against taking something temporary to fill in anyway (I have done three years of volunteering, which I hope to return to in the next few weeks and some P/T work to keep my CV ticking along). However and despite my WP provider being happy with my activity and number of job apps (no one can apply for what isn't there on a slack week), someone in my JC has raised a query based on a subjective judgement. I have discussed this on another thread and I agree with Flyonthewall that I have almost certainly been accidentally caught up in a JC sweep/crack down but that is no consolation after five weeks without money.

Note: I would prefer not to relocate again but I would do so for the right job, I am certainly not relocating to the other end of the country to be a road sweeper, for example. It is the only real restriction I have but I am sure you will agree, it is a perfectly reasonable one.

I have been told I will have to do MWA and before this period of unemployment I had worked for continuously for 13 years. My adviser told me my previous experience was irrelevant as I have only had 'professional' jobs before and that won't get me a minimum wage job..
So by doing a work placement or whatever in something less professional will get a less than professional job? LOL

    These people are seriously stupid!!
