You are really so wrong,,,,, WEX are AIMED at 18-24 but anyone who is claiming a benefit is entitled to under take a WEX or to be 100% politically correct a work together placement if you are over 24. They have the same rules. Go back 18 mmths ago and yes once you started you could be sanctioned BUT NOT NOW!

So no if you start a WEX (or work together placement) you are entitled to leave at any point. NO SANCTIONS Please get your facts correct.;)

Its when people like you quote the wrong rules that put people of getting of the backside and doing something that may move them forward in the job market.
Lots of people volunteer and I find it has made me many new friends, skills and enjoyment.
So the left side of DWP/JC+ doesn't know what right side is doing.

You keep changing rules so people don't know & don't trust DWP/JC+ anymore.

You don't publicise rules, as the Tory government/DWP want to treat people like sh it, don't want people to know rules and they are constantly changing, so what do you expect.

And the rules were changed because of direct action protests against big companies exploiting free forced labour. Not because you understand people & why forced labour is wrong & why voluntary should mean voluntary.

So get your facts rights, those rules were changed because of direct action protests against exploitation & forced labour !

What will the rules be tomorrow, next week, next month and will people get the truth ?

So how comes we all cant get jobs in shops?

Because most shops have there quota of people in position already, some don't have the patience to work in a public facing role, there are alot of reasons why not everyone can get a job in a shop. One of the main reasons is attitude, as in cleaning jobs many see those as the bottom rung of the ladder and would prefer to be signing on.

    OK, two points.

    1. You have only, up until now, mentioned Work Experience and have only now brought up Work Together because I have pointed out to you the fact that Work Experience is only for 16-24 year olds.

    2. I suggest you get your employer (the DWP) to update their literature because if you go to this page: http://www.dwp.gov.uk/adviser/updates/get-britain-working/ and look at the Back to Work support from Jobcentre Plus document, you'll see that, in respect of Work Experience, it states: "If, however they fail to start the placement, are dismissed or leave after the first week without having a reason (good cause) then they can be sanctioned."

I might add, who am I to believe? You a front-line grunt or the official documents from the website of the DWP?

    Try looking at https://www.gov.uk/moving-from-benefits-to-work/work-experience-and-volunteering

Yes the system changed and I have been trying to point that out. Yes I agreed with you that you could and were previously sanctioned if you left a WEX. I don't know what office you claim, if you are on WP or not and I can offer explainations but you will still argue. Each scheme has different rules, WEX has rules, MWA, if the work provider orgainises a placement that will have different rules. All I am merely trying to do is say what can help. Every district has different levels of unemployed people, some have high levels of youth unemployment others high levels of families others lone parents.
All I am trying to say is voluntary work can and will help people with skills to move back into work. You can find your own placement if you are so against JCP and compainies exploiting you. Provided the placement is for a registered charity or non profit making organisation you can do voluntary work. You still have to be available, activeley seeking and attend all interviews as arranged.

DWP does update its literature you just need to make sure you are ready the updates version. Scroll to the bottom and look for the dates.

DWP does often get it wrong and I have previously stated I don't like UJ, I don't like the WP and many other schemes DWP has but I do actually agree with voluntary work, I also agree with part time studies and I agree with apprentiships.

I also take great offence refering to me as a 'front line grunt'. I have not subjected you to any personal insults so there are no need to pass such remarks. People wonder why these JCP staff are often moody or miserable, little wonder if you treat them like that. I have offered you advice take it or leave it, find work or stay unemployed really makes no difference to me.

On the website I linked to it states: "Updated 3 June 2013". The document relating to Work Experience therefore must be the latest version and so, as I stated, sanctions come into force once you accept the "voluntary" Work Experience position (unless you can show me evidence to the contrary).

I make no apology because it is not an insult, merely an acknowledgement that you are on the front line of the "battle" with jobseekers (grunt being a lowly, disposable, army conscript).

I gave you the link to the update version, it has removed the document that was attached to yours. Sanctions are longer applicable to these two particular scheme.

You see it as a battle, then that is your choice. I presume to go to each attendnace with the attitude of going to 'war', hardly suprising you get met with a grunted response.

I wish you luck with you jobsearching.

The link you provided has no real information in it and certainly doesn't contain anything which disaffirms the possibility of sanctions being applied for those undertaking "voluntary" work experience. And you appear to be wantonly ignoring the fact that I have linked to an official and up-to-date DWP website to confirm this.

I have to say you are behaving exactly as FLAs throughout the country do. Ignore all jobseeker's evidence, no matter how legitimate, if it conflicts with your own.

No not get a job in a shop you have to get the interview first and I applied for two accounts based jobs in ASDA 20 hours a week and they said I failed the application process.

The process included maths questions etc so I can not see how on earth I failed that with an O Level and A Level grade A in Maths.

Makes me wonder who on earth ASDA actually do interview as it was also billed as 100 jobs for local people!!!

I have failed in that online application for one of the home delivery drivers. It's just a generic application, I do remember when if you knew someone who worked for asda you were guaranteed an interview and job at the end of it.
