You are all off topic as no one has said still what support they have been offered? Anyone? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for but I have not been offered any support from the JC. I am just coming to the end of my fourth WP and each provider has generally been helpful without helping to get me a job if you know what I mean. One of the providers did go some way towards helping people shortcut into a call centre job but it seems from my experience that most providers have few contacts or quickly use them up with a heavy client load. In addition, I ran into difficulties in a P/T job and whilst they were able to give a limited amount of moral support I got nothing in the way of practical help (the JC did not even want to talk to me about the same subject, BTW).
I am not sure what your circumstances are but mine are complicated with me being a 50+ graduate who changed from a science support career to something more akin to communications in the limited niche of conservation. The complication is that the communications role is more closely linked to my degree and demonstrates that I was and did get back towards what I was educated for. Unfortunately, there is a definite element of ageism in people engagement roles where most of the jobs are so I am effectively not quite as strongly placed as an individual as I once was. I keep trying different things such as volunteering and P/T work to broaden my CV but mostly it is just that I am going to be a little down the pecking order than I was ten years ago in just about everything I apply for. The WP people can see this and can't help and the JC just do not understand it.0 -
And what support are you expecting to be offered cause there isn't much that is on offer, yet!
No magic wand.0 -

Still very angry at the exit report fiasco and the lies the WP love to tell. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
If there is something specific that you need to overcome a barrier to work then the only thing I'd suggest is to ask. There may be provision for what you need in your area or if there is any additional training that could help get you back into work or make you stand out from the crowd compared to other applicants then you could ask for help through Low Value Procurement.
The jobcentre staff are there to help overcome any barriers to employment but are obviously limited in what they can offer. The best advice would be to ask...the worst they can say is no!0 -

The only help they can give is CV writing and cover letter writing which they and the WP have both said I do not need as they are good.

No I don't have a specific barrier at all other than being unemployed.

Obviously that's frustrating waiting for a call so I guess follow it up with whoever was supposed to call. Other than that, if you don't feel that you need that support in helping with barriers then it sounds like you're right; the only barrier is being unemployed. It's worth thinking about though. The option for additional help is there so say for example your skills would transfer into, say, a project setting (although that is literally just a suggestion off the top of my head; I think your background is in accountancy type roles if I've read your posts right?) then you could ask to get PRINCE2 training or something that would help your skills work in a slightly different sector.
I only mention project work because it's the first thing that came to mind but if there's anything like that you can think of it could be something to ask at your next appointment0 -
