I am not daily signing nor been threatened with or had a sanction.

It seems they just don't want people in the building as they have no time to see everyone and its just on repeat when you do.

No, I never got given a hard time either, but I think we were some of the lucky ones if the posts on here are anything to go by.

They say you must look for jobs in other areas and be prepared to travel, its so stupid because all people in those areas will be looking there too. They will also be looking in your area too.

Yes other areas other than where you live as in the town/local area

For example - If you live in greater London you are expected to look at all of London up to 90 mins travel to work. A lot of people only want to work locally and walk to work.

I have never worked locally and find it bizarre when the WP asked me 'would I work in London'! I thought it was a trick question.

It can be a trick question. If you state that you are willing to work anywhere in the country, your jobseeker's agreement may be amended to override the maximum 90 minute travel requirement.

My point was everyone is going to be looking for work in all areas.

it was a group about 17 of us in a room lasted about half an hour. They went through all the changes and basically listed how tough it was going to get and what was expected of you and sanctions you could get etc. There is going to be a new thing next March called a claimants commitment.

Its nothing to do with getting you a job its about making it very hard for you. At the end we had to answer silly questions ive answered before about why dont you have a job, what can the jc do to help you etc. Then it said where do you see yourself in 6-months time. I would love to have put lying on a beach abroad after winning the lotto.:T

    Next appt 2 weeks time.
isnt the claimants commitment linked to universal credit? so if that doesnt start in march in your area then you wont have the claimants commitment in march either i suspect. it seems alot of people working in the welfare sector like to scaremonger.

they've threatened me with sanctions twice - both times because they changed what they wanted recorded about job search and they are making it up as they go along
    It upset me mightily
if your evidence demonstrates what your jsa agreement asks of you then you would win an appeal easily i suspect.

No that's not what I am saying at all.

I never said 'anywhere' at all.

I live in Greater London and they ASSUME you want to work in the town where you live ie walking distance so asked me at the WP 'would you work in London' I said 'sorry, where'?

She repeated it and I laughed and said look at my CV I have always worked in London so I do not understand the question.

The reply was 'most people here want to work local within 2 miles from home'!
