For those of us being given a hard time for 6 months then transferred to the new name scheme in April could mean a lot of claimants will end up with 12 months of maybe daily or weekly JCP appointments and course referrals. Doesn't seem fair
The Help to Work scheme is ongoing indefinitely so you'll be on it until you get a job or sign off for other reasons.0 -

You don't acknowledge the amount of unemployed or how terrible the jobs situation is
It's not bad at all though. There are plenty of jobs out there; my bank finds it so hard to get good staff that we have to recruit from overseas, for example.
There are also myriad opportunities for self employment. Turn up at our front desk with a shoe shine kit, and you could probably start tomorrow cleaning shoes at £3 a pair. Stand out the front handing out cards and you could have people pay you to take in and return dry cleaning.0 -

I am guessing you work at a large head office and wouldn't the jobs be more specialist compared to being a cashier in the high street? We’ve had to remove your signature. 'Your' bank would consider long term unemployed? Someone with no banking experience?

Yes, for one of the more professional roles you probably need experience, but there's a work canteen, or door staff, and we've also lost our shoeshine guy. There's probably about five thousand staff in the building, many of whom would love someone to shine our shoes. The last guy did literally walk up to reception and ask for an opportunity to come in and do the job.
I'm not being glib when I say that there's work out there. It can take some lateral thinking, but there's still money to be made.0 -

Yes there are jobs out there, you just have to get the interview first and that part is not easy. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I had to contact my Work Programme provider because my employer was telling me they keep calling asking for details of my contract.
I informed them of my intent to withdraw third party data sharing consent and they told me:
"We're not going to stop using your data."
They are the lowest of the low.
Fortunately, my employer seems to understand that the Work Programme only get paid for getting me a job and they don't seem to remember them from the recruitment process (of which my provider wasn't involved.)0
