After finishing the wp i have today received a letter. It says action to help you find work jobseekers direction. I have to attend thursday morning. Is this an appt for just me or is it a group appt. Any feedback, how long will it last

For sure it is. The other option is 6 months intensive interaction with an adviser. That sounds a bit like when I was out of work 6months to 12 months were one week I signed the next week I had an advisor meeting where we talked about jobs she showed me ones on the UJ job search and we spoke about responses etc.
i certainly dont think they want people in the jobcentre all the time.

at mine they really just redid my jsa agreement and talked about what courses they may send me on. it was 121 for about 30 minutes i think.

My instant thought is: What the hell does this achieve?

I suppose it tenuously means the person has some consistency they will be "trained" to get used to?

It might cost them to travel to the centre.
i would be asking to claim fares.

how bad unemployment is in the area may have an impact as at mine it looks like people are only being seen once a month now on the post wp thing. they simply dont have the staff to cope.
  • My first after WP was a rejig of the JSA and a chat where the harridan falsely portrayed herself
Gotten submitted to the stupid two week course and a load of info including lies mixed in

Yes we know that and I have previously stated I have only had 2 meetings since July with my advisor as she is too busy and has not appointments. She can not make appts more than 4 weeks in advance so its pot luck if I get to see her. Other than that I just sign.

They are going to take on more staff for this and that's how they will do it.

Work Experience? After the work programme? What work experience? It never was mandatory, was it? Not in all JC

That's what i meant. It went from them telling me it was mandatory, to not.

It might cost them to travel to the centre. It will eat into their job search time as there don't seem to be that many decent opps on their computer system compared to Totaljobs, Indeed, Gumtree, etc.

Yes it's absolutely stupid, but she did tell me ours is one of the first to start this daily sign on, even though they don't have the staff.

She said by the end of Decemeber daily sign on will be in all job centers for WP leavers, it just depends if their adviser makes them do it or not.

Sadly, my job center is under 2 miles away and a 30 minuet walk so cannot claim travel back if i decided to not walk for any reason.
