I got told my job center have changed their mind and the work experience is no longer mandatory BUT if you do not choose the 25/30 hour a week work experience, then you will have to do a daily sign on.. which consists of walking into the job center, signing the sheet and leaving.. alongside seeing the adviser once a week, obviously. We’ve had to remove your signature. Daedalus Why are you on this guys back, He has obviously trained to be in accounts. Why should he have wasted all his time studying to become a security bod, which he needs a licence for which I bet he doesn't have or a cleaner
IT IS THE GOVERNMENTS DUTY TO ITS CITIZENS TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT
Especially those who have paid their taxes
And as for Job Centre so called advisors they should advise their clients as to what they are entitled too
Why do they bother having a customers charter?0 -
Can we keep the thread on topic please. Im looking for feedback on the first meeting after finishing wp.:footie:0

So busy mom did you used to work for JCP? Because you seem very defensive of them
Let me just as quick as I can relate my situation + exp of JC+
I have had a small bus set up for the last 3 years and they have lied through their teeth over the last 3 years and have prevented me from applyimg for a grant which I was entitled to which in turn has prevented me from being qualified to becomee a professional tour guide.
Also they stopped me from doing vol work, by changing my signing on day, yet when I asked on 2 ocassions I was tols 2 different stories
So you have someone like me trying to work + get off benefits (£117 per 2 weeks) yet at every turn I make to do something about it they obstuct me
So busy mom what about that then? What do you think?0 -

My instant thought is: What the hell does this achieve?
I suppose it tenuously means the person has some consistency they will be "trained" to get used to?
It might cost them to travel to the centre. It will eat into their job search time as there don't seem to be that many decent opps on their computer system compared to Totaljobs, Indeed, Gumtree, etc.0 -

My experience of 1st appontment after WP is on page before this one.
Mine was a one to one advisor appointment lasted about 30 mins. And an update to my job seekers agreement and a direction to register with UJM.
Can't really advise what will happen to you now as each job centre seems to be different.
Some people are doing daily signings or weekly appointments or some don't have regular meetings with an advisor. Some are being sent on courses some are being left alone.
From what my job centre told me my six months involve a 2 week employability course, weekly advisor appointments not always the day you sign so be 2 JCP visits them weeks. Then after about 3 months of this its a daily visit to see advisor and sign.
One size fits all seems to be my job centres attitude as per usual.0
