"Sorry, but it's not" does not make sense to any of the comments or points I made in my post that you quoted.
Actually, I've noticed that about some of your other posts too.0 -

One of my friends got engaged at 17, married at 21, wasnt pregnant, another got married at 23, engaged at 21, had been with her bf since she was 16, again not pregnant.
Some people do get engaged and married at a relatively young age and not because theres a baby on the way.
Just because the only people you might know are teen mothers doesnt mean thats why other people all over the UK get engaged young.
Also, if your OH asked you, would you turn him down on the basis that you are too young and didnt want to get engaged yet?
You said earlier in the thread that you used to want to be engaged at 22 but youve changed your mind, I dont actually think you know yourself why you are so upset at this couple being engaged.0 -

Maybe you should look at the definition of "engaged" - it does not mean that the couple are immediately at it like rabbits .....to most people becoming engaged is a public declaration that X and Y are engaged to be married - with the wedding date to be announced in the future.
Despite my early engagement, we did not have our first child until we'd been married for over three years - my daughter was married for 7 years, and No 1 son (married in 2006) is still childless.0 -

The done thing.
It would have made sense if you'd added 'the done thing' to 'sorry, but it's not'.
So, not only do you look down your nose at your boyfriend's brother and his fianc!e because they drink, don't save etc, you've got a downer on teenage mothers.
I will go back to this post earlier today:
You know, when I see a thread by a brand new poster and it's not about money-saving, I always wonder exactly how they found their way to this website.
Yep, school's certainly out. :rotfl:0 -
