Feeling tired today think its the change I the weather!MARCH £62.38/2500 -
More spending here - DH bought lime cordial (and a few other bits and pieces as he finds it impossible to just go in for one thing!) yesterday. So that is a questimated £10. Also went out for a lovely meal that I am going to include too.Off to update my signature!Living the dream, one moment at a time. Had the potato wedges tonight that I par boiled the potatoes for a couple of nights ago and kept in fridge (as potatoes were going green). They turned out so much nicer and crispier this way than when I normally put them in the oven straight after par boiling. Think I will do this way again even if the potatoes are still fresh.
Did a top up shop today, will update later when I have worked out costs.0 -
Hi all,
Ive had a quick read of the thread and clearly miss so much not joing over till the 9th... Self-saucing puddings and tips on celery that Ill have to find! Think I shall come over sooner next month
I went to Aldi today and spent £72.13  However approx. £30 of this was on Xmas bits which are now put away with a list safely in my possession, so I know whats already in my stash! Plus theres a list stuck to the inside of the cupboard door....
NB: I love my slow cooker too and bought mine from Ald! or L!dl a few months ago. Its a bigger one that holds a whole roast chicken and I LOVE it... To date Im not very adventurous with it and tend to do roast, stew and chilli... And that's it!! Always think Im going to sit down and read through the slow cooker threads and never find the time. That said, I still loooovvvee mine (did I say that already?) and could and would not be with out it.
I don't always brown my meat, but if I am making chilli, I brown the mince as I find it a bit horrible to be honest if you don't. Similarly, I quickly brown the outside of the chicken in a pan on the stove if I am doing a roast. Simply because if you don't, your chicken has absolutely no colour... This is a personal choice though and doesn't affect the flavour in any way!!
If I am doing a stew/casserole/curry, I just chuck in the pieces of meat as they are... HTH.
I previously had a George Forman and I also would recommend one. Mine was very small however (big enough to fit on one toastie at a time) and as much as I loved it, it was never big enough. Mine died a peaceful death after a long and fulfilled life however, and I haven't got round to replacing it! Maybe Ill pop one on my xmas listSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

How did you store them in the fridge? Airtight? In water?0 -

I never brown my chicken either but its good for me as I always used to love the chicken skin when roasted in the oven and would eat it all  cooking chicken in a slow cooker is definitely better for my waist line0 -

Just plain in an airtight container, my original plan was to cool them in the fridge and then freeze put I forgot to put them in freezer!0
