can i have any advice on frozen meat.
the packaging always says freeze and use within one month? i have some chicken and mince from april, im guessing i should bin?
i have a full chicken from june aswel.
i never know how long to defrost meat for and where aswel, mince usually goes brown so i throw away....ive not thorwn anything away yet just waiting for adivce, if i used it all i have about 2 weeks worth of food in there
I would use it, I have eaten frozen meat that has been in the freezer for longer than that. The only thing I would be aware off is possibly feeding it to vulnerable people (sick, frail, babies etc).
I take my meat out the night before, leave in original packaging and defrost in fridge, If I forget (which is often!) I defrost in microwave on defrost setting.0 -
I suddenly realised that tomorrows planned breakfast of sausage sarnies might be a bit of a problem since the sausages go out of date today. I know that they would probably be ok but decided to cook them up for a late breakfast but then realised I wasn't very hungry so I've thrown together a sausage casserole which I will have for lunch today with leftovers to go in the freezer. I'm hoping it will taste ok.....0

I would definitely use it, frozen food does not go off whilst in freezer but it may get freezer burn, you can tell if this has happened because it looks grey and nasty.
I have and do use food which has been frozen for some months.Slimming World at target0 -

I've always used meat, sometimes nearly 9 months old, and i'm ok. I do as other says. Take out freezer the night before. Defrost in the fridge. No problems.Slimming World Challenge 2017 0/30.5lb

If anyone could see me in my kitchen this morning I am sure they would be concerned.
I am attacking a 5kg bag of onions got yesterday. My but they are strong, had to give up as eyes just streaming. I thought I could do with a plastic bag over my head,
but Hey try explaining that at the inquest,
OK not a good idea, but maybe put the onion in a plastic bag, So I got a carrier bag on the table, flat, Lifted the side up and made a little tent, and worked in the bag, it really worked a treat. Five trays now dehydrating and four
bags prepared and in freezer, but I am not finished, I am sure there are now twice as many onions than when I counted them yesterday.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Slimming World at target0 -
