It's my Birthday - got some edible pressies - M+S biscuits + walnut whips - yummy.
Happy Birthday ! :bdaycake:
So OH got home before me last night and started tea except he did freezer tea instead rather than stir fry so a bit of rejigging (cooking the stir fry chicken up for sandwiches) means the plan hasn't gone too awry.
On the subject of slow cookers, do you have to brown the meat first in a pan? When I'm making curries I usually throw together a stock - tin toms, beef bovril with hot water etc- I'm guessing as long as the meat/veg in the slow cooker is covered that everything will cook just so?0 -
Happy Birthday Flo, have a wonderful day!
Today will hopefully be another NSD, although i do have to get some bread.0 -

No you don't need to brown the meat but some people think its gives a better flavour. I never brown my meat, just chuck it all in.0 -
Belated Birthday Wishes for yesterday Flo! Hope you had a lovely day.
£1.25 this morning on milk. Lunch is chicken i took out of freezer for me and tea for DH and kids is last nights leftover quiche and cornbeef pie with probably waffles and beans. They will all be happy with that!
Running low on a few bits so will most likely be going shopping tomorrow for top up shop. I would like to have gone today to be honest but I don't think i'm gonna have time.
Have a good day everyone!

Another spend to report of £35.23 on an AF order. Lots of dry goods that will not be used this month but will hopefully help me keep on track with my spending over the next few months. Never ordered from there before as feels slightly wrong to be ordering stuff with poor dates or just out of date but the prices seemed good and I think when it comes to tins and packet food the dates are just a guide. Giving it a go anyway! Getting close to budget but should only need bread, milk and maybe odd bits of fruit and veg0

Good idea, Christmas can be soooooo expensive with all the little treats. I think I will get a couple of items a week starting with things I will use for cooking - packets and jars and any bargains that will store until the big day.
I know I had a recipe for 'freezer mincemeat' in an old M&S cookery book which worked out a lot cheaper than bought jars. Must have a look for it as I've plenty of apples at the moment0 -
