Good morning
I did our weekly shop after work last night and decided to pop to £land and h0me bargain$ before mr t. Not done that before. We didn't need a huge amount as I had to do a big stock up shop last week.
Spends:
£4.00 £land
£4.05 HB
£26.52 Tesc0
This brings my total to £181.99 with 20 days to go. It sounds a bit  when I see that I have only got £68.01 to last us those 20 days:eek: but in reality we are well stocked up and I have done a rough meal plan until the end of month. We will need a bit more meat for variety and fresh stuff but shouldn't need to buy a thing until next weekend and took advantage of the milk offer at mr t so have enough for 2 weeks, just need to squeeze a bit n the freezer:cool:
Tonight I am trying a new recipe - BBQ chicken in the slow cocker with spicy chips, corn on the cob and salad with YS strawberries and ice cream for pud:)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

Can I join please? I'm currently spending a ridiculous amount on my food shop (probably around £350/400 a month for 3 of us, me, DD15, DS12, plus £10 a week on school dinners for DS). I find that I do a food shop a couple of times a week whether I need to or not, then come home and struggle to put it away because the cupboards, fridge and freezer are already full
Bad habits I think, possibly going back to a childhood where a stock cube made into "soup" (ie made up with water, nothing added but in a bowl not a cup) and a slice of white bread was considered a "meal".
DD and DS both do a huge amount of sport (3 mornings/5 afternoons a week before/after school - luckily all school extra-curricular so very little expense - plus football and tennis outside of school, DD is also doing GCSE PE and has 9 PE lessons over a two week timetable as well ). Not surprisingly they never stop eating, but they are very good and never help themselves to food without asking. All these activities, plus the fact that they frequently ask to have friends round for tea or go to friends houses, makes meal planning quite difficult though we love to sit at the table and eat together as much as we can.
So the plan is (I think):
1. Stock take my bulging cupboards/fridge/freezer and eat from there as much as possible for September then price up what we've used.
2. Keep receipts for all additional shopping and add them in.
3. Look at how September went and set a budget for October.
Have read so much of the advice on here I don't want to set myself too low a budget and fail immediately! My hours at work have been cut by 20% to avoid redundancies and I have debts that need paying off so I really need to get a grip!
Cheers x0 -

We did the main shop of the month yesterday in Mr M.
Got enough for meals for the month, plus bargains for the store cupboard. Total came in at £108.94, but we shouldn't need much other than fresh stuff, bread, milk and cold meats for the rest of the month.
I hope.
so total now stands at £183.54 / £300December 2014 GC 71.59/3000 -
Hi all,
£89 spent today between Mr L and Mr S, this included, cat food, loads of meat, fruit, veggies and lunch box stuff.
Am hoping to keep the food budget to a minimum this month to help towards Xmas spends.
Have a fab day all xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Just about to update my signature after having done our online shop yesterday. Getting it delivered this morning.
The boys are spending their pocket money today too, and then we are going to go and buy school shoes and stationary.0 -
I've started the stock-take of my cupboards..... no real surprises so far as I had a sort out in July when I moved my pans into a smaller cupboard so that I could have more room for my tins. I've been reminded though that I have an awful lot vinegar, balsamic, normal, red wine, raspberry etc ???0

A little spend this morning for essential toiletries.
£2.67 Home Bargains
Think I'll spend some time doing the stock check of cupboards and fridge/freezer. A few things have slipped in the freezer in Aug that didn't get written up and a few taken out without crossing off Augs lists.
Won't need too much spending this month apart from milk, eggs and fruit etc, as have veg growing and lots in freezer.
Am very tempted by the Aldi turkey mince @ £1.39 as its our favourite. Might have a wander out later and stock up but we could manage without as we got some good YS meats last night in Morries.
Must have some fun completing my meal plans for the month.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250
