Well the stock take is done but I won't post the full contents because it would take too long... Says it all really I guess, I could open a small corner shop with it all.
It proves to me though that my shopping habit is really bad. Why, when I already have 6 cartons of pasatta in the cupboard (at least smart price so not too expensive), do I stick another one or two in the trolley every week? Then there's the pasta, rice, couscous, lentils, endless tins of various beans/pulses (I don't eat meat thought the children do), packets of flavoured couscous, pasta in sauce, instant noodles, smart price bolognaise/chilli/curry sauce (14jars  though I have been stocking up on them while they were 16p a jar). As for the condiments and sauces, well if it's not in my cupboards it's not been invented yet!
Fridge and freezer both bursting at the seams so I think we may be in for some interesting combinations over the next couple of weeks. I did use some manky leeks and potatoes to make soup yesterday which was supper last night and will be lunch today. Hopefully very little to be spent this month while I use it all up0 -
Found you!! Have been a bit blonde and failed to find the September thread - can you add my target of £340 please?
This will be a 5 week month for us, as OH got paid early before the bank holiday, but September's back to normal for both of us - so already spent a chunk of the budget (need to round up this weekend's receipts & update my signature, don't think it'll be good news )LBM Dec 2013, Total Debt £31,992.06 Debt Free Date June 20220 -
Eek!!! Just added up the extra spending over last week and need to add an extra £97 to my total:eek: I didn't expect it to be that much, but I'd forgotten I got hijacked by OH & DS for a boys night in while i was travelling, with ready meals, drinks & snacks, ended up spending an extra £25 - well won't it cheer them up when we can't have a takeaway later on in the month!
Yesterday's (planned) weekly shop at A*di was £48.52, with a follow up shop (of things we couldn't get there) at Mr T's of £24.17. The good news is, that should be it until next weekend - no mid week shops needed.LBM Dec 2013, Total Debt £31,992.06 Debt Free Date June 20220 -
This month's budget is really tight, only £100 for the month from 29th August to 25th September.
Already spent £42.13, so these next few weeks are going to be hard as only £57.87 :eek:until 25th September. Going to divide this into 4 weeks so I have about £13.00 a week to spend if I am going to stay on target.
Plan is use store cupboards & freezer up, lurk on these boards for ideas of cheap meals and shop at Aldi/Lidl.
Well here goes........Grocery Challenge: £42.13 /£100 September 2013
