My neighbour has just given me a load of leeks & onions from her daughter's allotment so i've chopped them all up & put them in the freezer.
They'll be ideal for casseroles.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -

Hi. I would love to join this challenge as I need to keep a close eye on my spending. I will be starting tomorrow. Most of the time there`s just me and a cat to feed and I would like to stick to a
budget of 80 pounds.Make £10 per day in May challenge: £310/123.920 -
First spend of the month to report, £66.28 in Al@i, more than I wanted to spend but got 2 packs of the radiator airers for winter and quite a bit of store cupboard stuff, took advantage of this weeks vouchers in the Mirror too. Shouldn't need much for the next 10 days except a few bits I couldn't get in there0

Was hoping for a NSD today, but my parents ended up going to meat factory so got them to pick me up a pack of chicken fillets. £24.00 and there were 20 HUGE fillets in it so thats LOTS of meals for the month. 2 fillets do for 5 of us as a base for a meal, and sometimes there is a little left over from that so i'm happy.
Was gonna pop to shop tomorrow for milk, but may go today so tomorrow can be a NSD. Also, tried tesco value beans and sausages, oh my god they were beautiful! I seriously couldn't believe it. I buy Heinz because i love them and they ideal for a quick meal when i get in on a night from work but I think they are really expensive. Anyway, tried them and I seriously can't believe how nice they are. I tend to buy them when they are 3 tins for £2.50 so the fact that these ones are just 30odd pence a tin is fab!

First grocery spend of the month today was £41.16p spent at Tescos, it was £6.70 more than this but used a £6 MOC and a moc for vimto cordial. I have another MOC for Tescos for next week but may give that to daughter as I also have the aldi one, which I will make more use of. For the first time I have taken all of my grocery money out of the bank and will be keeping it in a grocery purse. This is a trial and error type thing as I usually just use my debit card for shopping but it may help me to see the actualy money dwindeling away, maybe making me think twice before I make a purchase. I have also got a little diary which I will keep running alongside receipts to double check spends. Good luck everyone for the coming month.SPC No. 295 - SPC No10 target £350

Right. I'm signing in for another month.
Am away for 11 days this month, but I'm aware that when I come back, that means I will need a fairly big stock up. I'm also trying to have 1 day per week carb free, which I'm thinking might be a bit more expensive. So allowing for all that:
Budget for September is £60
On a side note, does anyone know any books/sites that can tell me what foods do/do not contain carbs?0 -

If this is for diet purposes do remember though, complex carbs are very healthy and reducing fat is more beneficial than reducing carbs.October Grocery Challenge: £20.65/£150
