    Hi all *waves*

I've been inspired to join this challenge by CountingPennies who mentioned you on another board and thought I would give it a go for September

Hello Sachatith! Welcome and good luck! :-)

Bought 2 cartons on milk yesterday, but was paid for as part of a mystery shop and didn't buy anything else so declaring my first day of the month as a NSD :j

DH is working all weekend, so I should probably go shopping today. Need to make a list. Will be doing split shop at Mr T's and Mr Sainsbob to make the most of vouchers.

Hoping to get to meat factory too as its sooo cheap there but so tasty!

Probably gonna be an expensive day :o

    Happy Friday :)

Yesterday was my second day and was NSD (small yey!)

Told OH about the challenge and told him he needs to let me know about any spending - he was just as shocked to find out we have been spending £80.00 a month on takeaways. However, having discovered Mr T's 'Big Night In' where you get two massive mains and two sides for £6.00, it means we can still have our easy cook 'treat' night but saving about £15 a time.

Had a 'bung-it' hot pot last night, using the left over meat from Monday's BH roast (I cooked, parents bought the meat, another save!), chopped toms, pots, loads of veg that was looking a bit conspicuous and whatever else I could find. Managed to make two massive ones so doing two meals for him and three for me. Result.

We have friends coming round tomorrow night but we are using up 'spare' alcohol that has been there for a while. Yes we will order chinese but playing board games etc so low spend. Also took advantage of Mr T's buy one get two free on the gorgeous Gu puds - with three in a pack thats enough for us each tomorrow and some left for OH next week. Worked out about 26p a put. Bargain.

Made a bit of a booboo as signed up for Mr T's Delivery Saver 3 months ago 1/2 price (bargain saved £39) and wrote in my diary that I needed to cancel today. What I failed to do was realised that was the date for the next payment NOT cancellation date, so they have now taken £36.00 out of my account. Bit annoying but will be calling them tonight to make sure it doesn't happen again in November. I will make it back but I wasn't going to renew it so will now add that to my monthly total :(

Anywho enough of me waffling - see you all Monday and good luck!

    Love x

Ooh!!! The most marvellous thing has just happened!!! A friend of mine has just given me loads of food for free!!!! He is moving to the other side of the country and couldn't be bothered taking all the food with him and so has kindly donated it to me!!! :j

With this unexpected windfall, and after looking through everything I have already, I'm beginning to think that my budget for this first month is going to be far too easy to stick to!! :rotfl:

Bearing that in mind, coupled with the fact that I really do need to spend as little as possible until I get out of the interest charging part of my overdraft, I'm going to reduce my budget to £40 for the month (£10 per week)

    Sorry for the change zippychick!

I'm coming round to yours for dinner. Mention of those Gu Puds has got my mouth watering!!

Thats rather annoying re the delivery saver. I unfortunately signed up when they first introduced the delivery saver scheme so when it renewed, I was upset to get the e-mail telling me about the half price deal which I couldn't take advantage of. I contacted them but their response was quite boring - basicially, I had the benefit of the xmas slot and other *exclusive* offers and well tough. :rotfl:

    Hi,
Please could I be put down for £300 this month :)

I really can't get to grips with getting our grocery budget under control, but really need to!! The main change I have managed to stick to is doing the majority of my shopping in lidl and I've really noticed a difference :T now just to stop 'popping' into tesco and I'd be well away:D

Have been out & bought some food for the rabbit & guinea pigs today, so £8.49 spent, I also need to go proper shopping either this eve or tomorrow.

Have a good weekend everyone :)

I have just signed up for a the one month Asda delivery saver for £5. I did have free delivery (running out soon or maybe already has); but this required a £75 spend every time which was far too much on a regular basis; whereas i can now just get a few bits for the minimum £25 spend when needed during the month. I find Asda has alot of good deals on at the moment which i previously couldn't justify buying for a £75 shop, based in just one store.

So adding £5 to sig for delivery charge.
