Hi, any way you could change my amount to £150? I've decided that although we can live on £100, it doesn't give me any room to experiment in the kitchen. Plus, on reflection, this is definitely still less than we used spend. I think I underestimated just how much that wasOctober Grocery Challenge: £20.65/£150

Pandora I'm excited about the challenge too this month. I was thinking I should really stockpile my cupboards properly as I tidied them the other week but now I've forgotton what I have !
I don't really have any clue as to what I should set my budget for this month so I'll try to give this some more thought. It might be that I'll treat this month as watching what I'm spending and save where possible/use up stockpiles rather than rushing to the shop and then next month challenge can be to spend less!
I do find myself having too many top up shops and that I think is where I'm wasting money.0 -
First day of the Sept GC for me.
Also got paid.
Need to stock up on Packed Lunch stuff as the kids are back to school next weekI have loved having them home and am not looking forward to them going back. Hey Ho no point moaning about it i guess.
Going to write a list and do the online shop in a minute.0 -
Hi all *waves*
I've been inspired to join this challenge by CountingPennies who mentioned you on another board and thought I would give it a go for September, I was really good with groceries last year, only bought what we needed and then did the 'use everything up for a week' (don't EVER try a faggot sandwich....) but have got a bit slack recently. SO...
I would like to aim for £250.00 please for the month. This includes:
All food, cleaning products, toiletries and drinks for me and OH
Dog food and any treats (including sneaky trips to the local pet store!)
Any takeaways as last month we had one every week costing us near on £80.00 a month!!
My dates started yesterday (28th) and will carry on until 27th. Already slipped up as treated the OH to meal out yesterday! Oops.
Already got my spreadsheet set up and now going to look through some helpful threads for advice

First spend of the month at the local shop today, £11.35.
I have organised the money into envelopes so that I know exactly what I have got to spend. I have a separate bank account for the sm money so that it doesn't get mixed up with any other money. Hopefully this system will stop me from spending a fortune at the local shop and then not have enough for an online shop.0 -

If you are going to do sept as a pre challenge why not just keep your receipts and then judge your budget to be ,that way if you know what i meanGc 2013 +26 -5. -4 -7 -14 -15 -10.-8.20 +15p+30+5.80 Dec +9 GROCERY challenge 2014 Jan -2Feb -3 March -1.50 April +5.40 May +4.90 June -3.July 16.50/85

Can I join in please?
I'm trying to cut back as I've become a MFW and grocery shopping has been an eye watering £400-£500 a month for 2 and a baby.
I've been doing about £50 a week for past couple weeks so as its a 5 week month for me I want to spend no more than £250 in SeptemberMFW £190,450/£141,1400 -
